“What a find !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2008

My wife and I stayed at the Bear Mountain Lodge for two days in October as part of our tour of New England, we should have stayed longer. Mike was so helpful in directing us to the best places to visit and sights to see with only limited time available. Our room was massive, bed extremely comfortable and the breakfasts fantastic, talk about innovative cookery! We loved it.

We have just spent 2 nights (wish it was more) with Michael and Carol at Bear Mountain Lodge. It is the most perfect hide away in the White Mountains with fantastic views from the dining room, sitting room, some bedrooms and the decking at the back of the house out over the mountains. The tranquillity and peace were unbelievable. The accommodation was first class, really comfy beds and everything you needed including lovely bathrooms with all the little extras. Michael and Carol are excellent hosts, they couldn't do enough for us including recommending some really fab restaurants in the area and cooking the most amazing breakfasts! The lodge is located in the middle of the White Mountains and there are numerous scenic driving routes to take and many local attractions to see and do, we would heartily recommend a stay here.

We stayed at this B&B for two days on a special occasion and it was one of the best spots on our New England foliage trip. The structure is extremely charming, rooms are spacious and very very comfortable, breakfasts are delicious and the owners are always there to help you with planning seeing the area, your dinner or anything else you might need. Bethlehem is a nice little town with very decent choice of restaurants. White mountains is a great place to visit and you don't have to look further to choose your accomodation in the area. Enjoy...

We had a fantastic time at Bear Mountain and exploring New Hampshire. What a beautiful resort and area. The views were spectacular and the rooms, service and B&B were top notch. I highly recommend Bear Mountain lodge and just wish we were there a bit longer to see the leaves really change color. They were just starting. This is a don't miss location.

My husband and I were given a gift certificate to the Bear Mountain Lodge as a wedding gift. We were extremely impressed by the level of service given to us and all guests. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! We can't wait to go back, and will definitely recommend this fabulous place to our friends and family.

We stayed for two nights at this wonderful location and our stay was truly magnificent. The views and location are stunning and they are more than matched by the lodge, which is a great big comfortable log cabin. The communal areas really feel communal and are the focal point of the lodge without intruding into one's own personal space. The bedroom was really comfortable and we slept really well. The breakfasts are truly home cooked and delicious.

The hospitality of the hosts was great - helpful and enthusiastic without being over-bearing, with a friendly attitude that extended to all the other guests as well as to us.

All in all - the best place we stayed in duing our three week holiday in the US and a very refreshing reminder of a genuine "hotel" exerience as opposed to the uniform approch of the large branded chains. We'll be back!

I booked at the Bear Mountain Lodge after seeing their website with pictures of the beautiful log architecture. On arriving at the lodge, the inn, the property and the view was as magnificent as expected. The real treasure of the place was our hosts. After a long day of hiking, biking and sightseeing, Mike, the owner was always there to greet us, and ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. Every evening we had help in making dinner reservations, and every morning an excellent breakfast. My wife and I have stayed at many fine hotels and B & Bs, and I have read trip advisor posts for many years. My experience at Bear Mountain was so positive that it finally prompted me to join trip advisor so I could make this post.
