My husband loves coming to the Wayside Inn during the spring, summer, and fall because of the excellent golf in the Bethlehem area. Bethlehem boasts two Donald Ross courses, and there are nearby courses just outside of town, most notably 19 holes in Bretton Woods.
I love coming to Bethlehem for the Wayside Inn--#1. It really is a home-away-from-home for me. My extended family has stayed in both the lovely main inn and in the annex; we stay in the comfy annex with our dog. It's super comfortable--we get excellent sleep there, lulled by the sound of the river just outside our balcony--and the shower is steamy and great after a busy day. Most importantly, it's a cozy, clean and quiet place where our dog is welcome (the annex has pet-friendly rooms), and we are grateful for the chance for our hound to share our holidays. It's everything I could want.
Once you stay here, you will never want to stay on the "noisy" side of the mountains again. Bethlehem and nearby Littleton have such awesome shops, sights, and restaurants and none of the gridlock and overpriced fuss.
I urge you to consider a visit to the Wayside---once you do, it'll be your beloved "home in the mountains", too.
