“A Surprise and Lovely Historical Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

This summer I made the great decision to stay at the Mulburn Inn while traveling through the area visiting colleges with my son and wife. The Inn is an astonishing respite of Old World Charm. Mary made us feel like we never left home with the North Country Hospitality so reminiscent of this part of the country. And of course the New Hampshire scenery is magnificent. Planning a trip when the leaves change and will always make The Mulburn our spot to stay whenever in the area.

Wonderful inn in sleepy town of Bethlehem in New Hampshire. It's an old mansion which used to be owned by the Woolworth family. Still retains its old charm. I felt so at home here. Very cozy and comforting. Extremely silent at night and my husband and I were able to sit in the cozy spacious living room and read a book - which rarely ever happens cuz we're both so easily distracted. This place was just peaceful and perfect. Breakfast was excellent. There is also this great vegetarian restaurant down the block called Maya Papaya that served fantastic vegetable wraps..wow...so healthy! Furthermore, the scenery in the White Mountains region was breathtaking. Could get chilly at night!

Mary is a wonderful B&B host and we really enjoyed chatting with her. She greeted us with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, chilled our wine to enjoy on the front porch as we watched the sun set, and recommended restaurants in the area. I miss the wonderful "Root" restaurant on Main Street near the Inn which I visited last year. Hopefully it will reopen next year. Thanks for upgrading our room. We had a lovely breakfast made especially for us and the other guests that night with similar taste (baked oatmeal with fruit). I understand Mary normally makes something heavier for the hungry hikers. We're still in awe of the grandeur of the house, our wonderful room and hospitality of the owner.

Room Tip: The room was really comfortable without earplugs even though we are somewhat light sleepers. Trucks...

We stayed at the Mulburn with our two young kids. Mary is as wonderful a host as all the prior reviews say- welcomed us warmly, had great suggestions for things to do, did all sorts of special things for our kids, and makes a mean cookie. The whole Inn is beautifully kept, and the Pierce room is great for a family of four (KIng bed and twin/trundle bed). Plenty to do indoors and out and Bethlehem is a great central spot for exploring the White Mountains. Be sure to check what is playing at the Colonial Theater just down the road- good movies and live music. Overall the Mulburn is an excellent B&B and we hope to go back! Thanks, Mary!

A perfect weekend. Mary entertained us with stories of the house's history, fed us the best biscuits and chocolate chip cookies that I've ever had and upgraded us to a room where Marilyn Monroe had stayed. Clean, comfortable and a superb breakfast. Highly recommend it and we will be back

A group of 10 Canadians spent the weekend at the Mulburn. The hospitality was amazing, including being served wine in the hot tub. Service was unbelievable. The accommodation is perfect, with many areas to just relax - Indoors and outdoors. I highly recommend this B&B.

This review is late in coming (we stayed a year ago) but wanted to share our experience. Mary was such a wonderful host, you can really tell that she cares about what she is doing! The inn is beautifully appointed. We stayed in the Pierce Room with our then 10 year old son (he loved his daybed). The room was large and we loved the electric fireplace. Breakfast was delicious and the cookies in the evening were amazing!

Room Tip: The Pierce Room was great for a family of three (our son had a daybed and the room was large).
