“What a Fantasic Tranquil Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

The Inn is so well appointed to take you back in time, yet has everything for comfort in the present day. The staff was attentive to our needs and went out of there way to insure our happiness. Dinner was amazing and the service was incredible. What a great place to get away for a romantic weekend. The Bedford Inn has it all.

We stayed 2 nights at the Bedford Village Inn in May 2013. Overall very pleasant stay. Very well appointed suites in old building surrounded by trees and greenery. It retains the charm of an old inn, with dark wood, slanted ceilings, but with modern conveniences in bathroom, quiet central temperature control and flat TV. We took the B&B package, worth it if you plan to have breakfast there. First morning, continental breakfast was delivered within 15 minutes: tasty danish, croissant, pastry, huge fruit plate. Second morning, breakfast in the dining room was not so successful. After 40 minutes, they found out they had lost our order. They apologized profusely, brought fruit and croissant to our table and offered a credit for future stay. When eggs benedict finally arrived, they were delicious. Dining room, wine bar and tavern are in adjacent building, many small rooms beautifully decorated. We had dinner in main dining room, just 2 couples that night. Meal was excellent, server very courteous and knowledgeable. Pricey but worth it.
Overall we recommend for a couple who likes wine and good food.

I had booked this stay as an anniversary present for my husband and I. I had mentioned that it was for our anniversary when booking the night. At dinner, we arrived to find that the table had been decorated and we were able to be seated in a quiet room by ourselves for most of the evening. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Our chocolate bag dessert was decorated with an edible "Happy Anniversary" tag. We stayed in the Gordon suite which is directly off the inn for more privacy. The rooms were spacious and quaintly decorated. We had a king size bed along with comfortable chairs and couches and a kitchenette. Breakfast the next morning was in the dining room with a beautiful view of the grounds and orchids on the tables. The food is as amazing as the Inn.

Room Tip: The rooms adjoining the Inn are quieter if there is a function in the main area.

After several long winter months and stress from many hours of overtime, I knew it was time to surprise my husband with a romantic night away. The Bedford Village Inn was convenient and felt like home as we entered the vestibule. The staff was entirely focused on our comfort and happiness. Warm smiles and pleasant conversations were the norm as we wandered the main floor. The stress melted away as we relaxed near the fire taking in the ambiance of a greeting room that was embracing in its carefully chosen decor. Our room was very comfortable and held many small pleasantries, such as a snack basket, coffee maker with a wide variety of coffee/tea/hot chocolate choices and electronics that were nicely hidden behind an intricately decorated antique credenza. The furniture was comfortable and invited snuggling on the couch and reading in the arm chair with ottoman. I was particularly pleased that there was an auxiliary output for our Smartphone so that we could play our own music. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very high quality. We had an incredible dining experience with individualized attention, gentle suggestions from our waiter and an atmosphere that was intimate and private. The main dining room is actually a series of rooms from average sized to intimate. The food was excellent and was a treat for discerning pallets. They had a nice wine selection and full service bar choices. Since the Bedford Village Inn was originally a series of farm buildings from the early 1800's there are some things to note. My husband is 6'4" so had to duck under some of the cross beams and the room had some temperature variations. During our stay they were not holding a function so I do not know how the noise of a moderate sized event would effect things. I would highly recommend this location.

Room Tip: This is a romantic hotel that does not have a swimming pool or spa. You might want to check ahead to...

Two tired innkeepers from the lakes region in NH needed a relaxing two nights away, so we picked The Bedford Village Inn. We were greeted warmly by the front desk person and proceeded to our deluxe room. Very spacious with comfortable chairs and couches for reading and working on my sewing project. The king size bed was very comfortable, but the room was too warm. We kept the windows opened at all times! The first night we were there, they hosted a very large stand-up function. We were lucky to find a parking place web we returned from dinner. No noise in our room, though, so we were pleased with the sound-proofing at this inn. Overall, a very relaxing experience. Turn down at night was special! We would like to return in a different season. B+

Great place; loved the warm atmosphere. Where ever we went the staff greeted us with a friendly smile and we were accommodated every step of the way. All of the comforts of home in these beautiful rooms. Our master bath had a whirlpool tub which was so nice at the end of the day. Great location - mets all of our dining needs from dinner to wine and snacks to a gourmet breakfast. My wife and I agreed that we would make this a tradition each year and look forward to our next visit!
