“Okay, but not my favorite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

The good news about Virginia City is that things aren't very expensive; however, this museum was very small and not very interesting to young kids and they are not free. It was our least favorite place to visit, but kind of cool to think that Mark Twain worked there.

“Nice if you're really into Mark Twain's history”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2010

The museum is housed in the basement of a gift shop that formerly house the Territorial Enterprise. The modest entrance fee covers a self-guided tour of the museum where one can look at an old printing press, type setters, the desk Mark Twain used, and other odds and ends. While my 4th grade daughter was more interested in the trinkets sold upstairs, I strolled around in the basement trying to imagine what it was like when Mark Twain and Dan de Quille were writing for the paper.

If you're looking for amusement, this isn't the place for you. If you're a student of Comstock history, a Mark Twain fan, or anyone else who appreciates the Territorial Enterprise it is well worth a visit.
