“Tahoe House Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Staying in Virginia was a wonderful experience. Sleeping in a very old hotel was a very interesting experience. Stepping outside and looking a the buildings and surrounding hills was very interesting. The hotel was well maintained and is filled with great artifacts. The only downside was the room we stayed in "The Presidential Suite" was overpriced in our opinion. The manager was extremely nice.

Since we were riding our motorcycle up and we were concerned about the weather, I asked Teresa if she could notify us if there was a possibility of an early check in. Teresa said she can often accomodate such requests and promised to call if it looked promising. Teresa, true to her word, called first thing in the morning and told us we could check in any time! We arrived early and we could not have been more pleased with the cleanliness, customer service and attention to every detail. Teresa May not own the hotel but she takes pride in the place as though she were the owner. She was always nearby to answer any question or provide any assistance. We had guests on our balcony and Teresa made them feel very welcome as well. All in all the visit was exquisite! We can not wait for the opportunity to return!

Room Tip: I can't figure out how to delete my review of a fitness center or swimming pool. The Tahoe house...

Our adventure at the Tahoe House Hotel started with booking a room on their website, which was easy and convenient. On our arrival day, Theresa called us 1/2 hour before our scheduled arrival time to say our room was ready early, very considerate. Upon arriving, she showed us the property and really made us feel welcome and at home. We enjoyed a glass of Champagne in the Great Room, and a cheery and informative conversation with Theresa. After looking around at all the wonderful decor and antiques, we ventured out to enjoy the town.
The Hotel is very clean, charming, and very comfortable. While we've been to Virginia City many times, including our Wedding Day 18 years ago, we'd never spent the night. We both so thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tahoe House Hotel, we will certainly stay again! Thank you, Theresa!

Room Tip: Rooms to the front of the Hotel lead out to the balcony overlooking the town, and their 100 mile vie...

Wow this was like stepping back in time. The rooms were all different, restored to perfection like they were back then. it was very clean, staff was very sweet and friendly and the hospitality was the best. It couldn't have been better . We were there only 1 night but can't wait to come back again. We told everyone we met about it from Nevada back to Canada and how awsome it was.
" Truly a wonderful experience....Thank-you

Room Tip: Any room in this hotel is very charming and you will always remember it...

Simply excellent. We stayed right before July 4th and had the hotel to ourselves!! Even if there were other guests, this is a great place to stay. Clean, even sold beer/wine in large gathering room. Hostess was great.

My Wife and I spent just one night at the Tahoe House Hotel and dearly wish it had been a week at least. The hotel was excellent, the rooms were so beautiful and so well restored with period furnishings and lovely bedding. The hotel is right in the centre of town and very well run by all the people we met, with special thanks to Teresa who was by far the best sort of person you could wish to meet while travelling, she was very friendly and helpful and even shared a bottle of wine with us. Can't praise the place up to much just loved it, and look forward to going back if ever we are in the area again (but for a longer period).

Room Tip: Balcony rooms were best with a great view down the Main Street and to see the sun rise in the mornin...

Way overpriced!! No one on duty. Took 2 hours to find an adjoining business to open the doors for me. No one could find the one person who works there. She showed up next morning just long enough to take my money, then gone again. No air conditioning, no room service, no maid service, no parking. Whoever owns this place should hire a staff.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else
