“Tonopah an interesting little town!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We have never been to this area before, a little apprehensive since it's very remote, but we figured one night wont hurt us. We were very happy with our room, it was clean and spacious. Only had a minor issue with the fridge, but someone came up right away and fixed it very quickly.

Would stay again.

Room Tip: No elevator at this hotel, make sure you ask for a ground floor if your needs require it, other wise...
See more room tips
Green Features: Interesting that you have to leave one of your keys in the wall to run the air-conditioner and lights. The weather was nice there in Sept. not overly hot, but would want it nice and cool when I came back to the room if it was high summer heat.

Half way between Reno and Las Vegas. The place was clean and quiet, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was very tasty. The place offered free Wi-Fi during the stay which worked decently; there were only a couple of times that the signal dropped off and I had to sign in again. The staff really goes out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible during you stay in this quaint Nevada town.

Great staff and clean rooms. Breakfast is always fresh and hot. Kitchen staff have even rearranged the breakfast menu because we would be leaving on the day our favorite food would be served. The rooms are always clean and the staff goes out of their way to fix any problems promptly. The hotel is on the main street downtown so it is easy to find, safe, and relatively quiet.

We stayed here on our way from St. George, Utah to Carson City Nevada. It is the only town of decent enough size to have a hotel of this quality on that route. Smack dab in the middle of nowhere. We always stay in BW whenever we can. This is our second stay at Hi Desert Inn. People are very accommodating and nice. Rooms are very well appointed and decorated. I think most rooms have been recently renovated. Nice breakfast and fresh cookies every afternoon. Only draw back is that the hotel is laid out very strangely, kind of like the town. Long hallways with twists and turns to get outside. I know that they are busy most of the time because of their location, route from Reno to Vegas so we were glad to get a room by just stopping in. Did not want to stay at the Clown Motel.....Tonopah is "very eerie" to say the least. Could not live there for sure. Also watch out for cops. They love visitors who go more than 25 mph down the main drag. More cops than the city warrants if you ask me. Enough of that, the BW Hi-Desert Inn is a very nice hotel if you have to go to Tonopah. I would stay there again if I find myself in this area....

This Best Western is, hands down, one of the very best we have ever stayed in. The rooms have bright bathroom lights, an excellent breakfast, extremely friendly staff and an unending supply of cookies for late night snacking.

Reservations are suggested. This hotel books up fast.

We were driving in the middle of no where and were wondering if we were ever going to come to a hotel for the night. We were thrilled to find this Best Western. It is decorated very rustic. It is clean and the breakfast was delicious. A lot of the other hotels had reviews of being haunted in this town. We laughed when we read them but stayed at one that "didn't have ghosts". It was dark when we got there and the town at night is spooky. The "Tonopah Historic Mining Park" which has self-guided tours is behind this hotel and gives it a spooky look too. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU LEAVE HERE YOU HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS! Gas stations are not plentiful. Stay here if you are in the area. Very Good hotel to feel safe in. We were on our way to Yosemite and wish someone would have told us about the gas. Thankfully my hubby insists on filling up often.

Great, friendly staff. comfortable rooms, good full breakfast,( not just toast and cereal but stuff like eggs, bacon, juices, milk, waffles, fruit ect.) I recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Tonopah. This is definitely the best place in Tonopah. I is right on the main road that travels through their. Easy to get to. They even have a nice pool and hot tub during the summer.
