A friend and I were passing through town on a trip from California to Iowa. I wanted to stop at Harvey's to get a Hard Rock Cafe guitar pin. My friend dropped me off while he went elsewhere, and I had about an hour to spend here.
I do not gamble but like to people-watch and experience new things. I was there at 10:00 am and noted that the restaurants were all closed. I had hoped to find something quick for breakfast but did not see anything during my short time there.
I stopped at a jewelry counter and was assisted by a very nice older woman. She showed me a few rings and pendants but did not seem to have listened to my story when I told her I wanted to spend less than $200. The pieces she showed me were all clearly more than that. She then pointed out some special deal that would not have worked out for me as I do not live in the area and was not returning within the next 5 days. (something else I explained) When I said I wanted to "walk around and think about my purchase," clearly the kiss of death to a salesperson, she seemed almost desperate for me to make a purchase.
I walked around the casino which was not at all busy that day. It was a Monday, so that's probably typical, especially for the morning. Everything seemed fairly clean. I used the second floor restrooms which were remarkably tidy.
By the time I left, shortly before 11:00, things seemed to pick up a bit.
The Hard Rock Shop is scheduled to open at 11:00, but the clerk let me come in early and get what I needed. She was super nice and very friendly. If you go, stop in a say hello to Kristen.
