“Just all-around easy, exactly what vacations should be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Ok, so myself and a few friends set up this great trip to stay in Tahoe for New Year's and attend the SnowGlobe Music Festival. We originally had planned (both budget and otherwise) to stay at a cabin of an acquaintance, so imagine our panic when we learned just a few days before Christmas that it had fallen through. We frantically began searching for a place to stay and were quickly losing hope that we would find anything without amassing a small fortune on a deposit or sky-high hotel room rates. Enter Doc's Cottages, our savior. We booked their last room on a whim and that was the last stressful event of the trip. Lloyd and Angie were just great, got us everything we needed (dishes, coffee, soap, whatever), and were just genuine people looking out for their guests. I feel like I want to go back just to hang out with them. It was convenient to pretty much everything (casinos, the lake, shuttle lines, chair lifts) and the full kitchen was a dream for a budget-friendly trip. I'd also like to applaud the construction of the cottages for a group of quasi-rowdy adults who like to blast some bass from time to time. You couldn't even hear it outside (and we checked multiple times). They just don't make them like that anymore. Sometimes things just work out and I give all the credit to Doc's.

Room Tip: All the cottages are different, so be sure to check their website for the floor plans and pick the o...

The cottages are excellent value for money, especially for families. Situated next to Harvey's on a very queit road, I was within a couple of minutes walk to the Lake and to all of the action including shops, casinos and skiiing. Lloyd checked me in, and he couldn't have been more helpful. Although traveling alone, the cottages would be perfect for a family, having a decent bathroom and kitchen facilities. The place was clean, tidy, and even had fire place. Highly recommended.

My sister and I so enjoyed staying at these quaint cottages. Our cottage, # 1, with two queen beds was cozy and warm, our kitchen, tho small, served our needs perfectly.
Lloyd and Angie (owners) were both warm and friendly to us and so willing to accommodate our needs, like extra blankets and kitchen utensils as well as anything else we may have asked for. Loved the attached deck, Lloyd brought us extra chairs so that my cousins (# 4) could join us when we were enjoying the Tahoe fresh air. Parking is just outside your cabin which is also really convenient. The one long block walk to the Casinos and restaurants was and added convenience. Also the ski gondolas are just also within walking distance, just behind Harrah's. Staying at Doc's, will be the added treat to your stay in South Shore Lake Tahoe.

Room Tip: Depends on your needs, all the cottages a basically the same but vary from cottage to cottage. Speak...

We used to stay at Doc's cottages many years ago before the current owners and the upgrades. Lloyd and Angie are wonderful, friendly and very helpful hosts. They welcomed us like family. We remember having great times in Lake Tahoe and this time was no different due in large part to Doc's Cottages and it very convenient location with access to the Casinos and restaurants.

The cottages are very cozy and charming and clean and come with kitchens. We highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: We were shown three different cottages and they were all great. We stayed in #4 which met all our ne...

Doc's Cottages was a pleasant experience for my husband and two small Shih Tzu's. It is right on the Nevada side of Stateline.....tiny clean cabins and within 2 minutes of walking to the casinos This is not in the woods....but feels comphy ...(and did I say clean?)....as you walk through the door. The street was pretty calm....and we enjoyed watching horse carriages going back a forth as we sat on our porch. The owners were accomodating, and friendly....they have been here for many years....and it shows. We live an hour and a half away and visit the area often....THIS IS OUR NEW PLACE TO STAY! Next time we'll actually use the little kitchen and BBQ......It's simple and sweet......enjoy your stay!

Charming and comfortable rustic cabins. Great location, nice hosts, excellent value.Easy walk to casinos, skiing and lakefront. Pet friendly and kitchenette both pluses. Would definitely stay there again and bring friends and family.

Room Tip: Cabins are quiet and warm with lots of light from windows. Not luxurious, but authentic old Tahoe fe...

We were on a very tight budget when traveling to Tahoe for a wedding- so price was definitely taking presidence over luxury on this trip. Doc's cottages were great because they had a kitchenette too!

The best thing about this place: LOCATION! It's right next to stateline- where all the action is! You can walk to a lot of places a short distance from the cottages. The only complaint is that the first night we had to change cabins because the bed was on a slant.

The cabins were clean and the staff was VERY friendly. If I visit Tahoe on a shoestring budget again I'd stay here again.
