“Much better than Harvey's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We stayed two nights on business and then moved across the street to Harrah's. I think they are all owned by Cesar's Entertainment but Harrah's is a real improvement. Still not up to Hilton or Marriott Standards but not bad for a casino hotel. The non smoking room really was a non smoking room and no linger of smoke as the Harvey's room. The price was better and the room larger. Food is not too bad here either. The hotel is better maintained with hallways newer, cleaner, and not smelly.

We held a Family Business Meeting at Harrah's Lake Tahoe; we booked aprox 25-30 rooms. The big feature that led us to this hotel was the two bathrooms in each room. Upon entering our room we were disappointed to see how dated and worn it was; and the toilet in bathroom#1 was running. We called maintenance. They did not come. The next morning we told house keeping. They came to fix it while we were trying to shower & dress for dinner - 24 hrs later. The water was turned off the bath #1. No worries, we have bath #2..WRONG. Bath #2 had a broken shower and blinky light fixtures. Going back and forth between two half working bathrooms was luxury at it's worst. The toilet was replaced 36 hrs later, the shower was never fixed. The doors do not close easily to any of the rooms - therefore you will hear doors Slamming Shut all day and you guessed it- All Night! The bed was Great, the view was Beautiful.House keeping was nice. In the end they took $50 off of the well over $1,000 bill for 3 nights for our trouble with the bathrooms. Most of the family had similar complaints of torn carpet, worn furniture, noisy, broken electrical outlets. - Will not stay here again.Ever. And I'm confident in saying "Harrah's does not care!"

Room Tip: The view from the 10th floor was stunning, the lake was to the left and the mountains to the right...

I am writing this at Harrah's on a shabby, old, and badly warped table with no light. This is a rather large room with very little furniture: two equally worn out formal dinning room chairs with a small, aged table in between, a beat up entertainment unit, and the table I'm writing on. The beds are fairly comfortable, at least. The carpet is torn, wrinkled, stained, and patched. There are two bathrooms, which could be a nice touch, but one doesn't have working electrical outlets and the other has a toilet that entertains you with "The Ballad of Old, Worn-Out Plumbing" when flushed. The water pressure is very low.

This is the only hotel that we've stayed in (ever) that charges for in-room coffee--$4.99 for four individual packs (1 cup ea) of coffee. We ordered room service for lunch. It reminded me of lunch on a trial ride. The club sandwiches were served in a box, underneath the fries. The ketchup came in packets. The coup de grace was the plastic wear and tissue-quality napkins sealed in a plastic sack. We got all this for a mere $30.00 (without drinks)!

On the other hand, my son's room, which we saw much later the evening of our check in, was newly redecorated and looked very nice. We would have asked to be moved, but this was our second move, as our first room was located adjacent to a huge compressor (?) on a roof 10 feet outside the window that made the whole room shake. That room also had dingy everything...and only one chair! Why didn't we move again? We were sick of packing and unpacking and are attending a business meeting and don't have the time to beg and then move once again. Besides, it's only a 50/50 shot that our next room will be any better (and the front desk couldn't commit to helping us because the hotel is "full").

I will make certain that our (large) family never conducts another business meeting at this hotel.

Very crowded and noisy upon arrival, not all the hotel's fault but the aura was more cafeteria rather than nice hotel. Staff was nice. Loved the double his/her bathrooms in the room! However, as we awoke the next morning to leave, there was no water pressure which made showering impossible. Even the sinks had water only dribbling out. Was not worth the price.

We stayed at Harrah's Tahoe for the first time after staying at a number of local hotels over the years. We have stayed at other Harrah's facilities before but never here.

Check in was quick and easy. Valet parking was fast and convenient. Staff was very courteous and helpful, especially Tania at the concierge desk.

We were upgraded to a suite with a great view of the lake. All the rooms have two bathrooms as far as I know and the room was clean and comfortable.

I can't really complain because we were upgraded to the suite but I was a bit disappointed in the $20 per day resort fee. It covers wi-fi, the spa, local calls and the like but we didn't use any of the things it covers. At other locations that we have paid the resort fee we have at least found the morning paper at our door.

My husband and I stayed for one night in mid April. The hotel was located within walking distance of the restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and the scenery. The hotel room was very nice and very roomy! it had 2 bathrooms which was great! The view from the room was pretty awesome! over looking the town and we could see Lake Tahoe. We will for sure stay again in our future travels.

The drive up highway 50 is beautiful and if you like mountain driving wonderful. Once you get to South Lake Tahoe you can continue on highway 50 skirting the south end of the lake. Once you get to Harrah's you can park your car in valet for free. Check into the hotel is the simpliest thing to do and then you take the elevator to your room and instantly you have the greatest view of the lake possible.

The rooms all have two seperate bathrooms which is a very unique idea. Restaurants abound at the hotel. The American River Grill is great for breakfast, they have a wonderful buffet with a killer view.

This is a true resort and anything that you can think of is avilable.
