“Nice and comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Lake Tahoe is a yearly ski stop for us. We've stayed at a number of places on the south shore at Harrahs was our place to call home for a Week.
We were in room 1206 it was a upgraded room per the website I think a Premium King non smoking. The room was large and clean , the amenities were fine but They didn't have a docking station for your Phone or any thing else for music. I geuss the Tv was good enough. The room had a small Frig, a safe, and coffee . they also had another Frig for all the treats/ bar items they sell we stayed away from that. The bathroom was nice plus you have a his and her's bathroom a huge Plus. A large couch , a Chair which I think you could do without it makes for to much furniture because the couch is a sectional, extra long for a hotel room. It has large windows but the view was ok you could had a partial view of the lake if you go to the window and look out to the left. You can get a view from the mirror on the wall too. You have a partial view of the mountain also. The room is next to the elevator which scared me (noise factor)for the late night drunk noise but they have double doors you can close and I did because the first night we had the late night loud people coming down the hallways. The double doors were great!!! The bed was comfy, I like a softer mattress so it was a little hard for me but not bad. Extra pillows helped with that.
Didn't use room service, house keeping was good a few minor mistakes. They brought me a humidifier right away, extra pillows.
I like this hotel/ casino and will return.

Normally when staying in Tahoe we opt for staying at a timeshare. This time, due to the spontaneity of our trip, we spent a couple of nights at Harrah's. Our room was quite spacious and included 2 bathrooms. The thermostat was set at a comfortable 70 degrees and there was no need to fidget with it even though our stay was during a nice cold snowstorm and the outside temperature was in the low 20's. The bed was quite comfortable as was the bedding supplied. The floors & carpet were in need of some serious cleaning. We were a little bit unhappy over the fact that you had to pay $4.99 for a cup of coffee if you used the supplied Keirig coffee maker found in the room. But, upon request at the front desk, you can have an old style coffee pot delivered to your room with packets of coffee at no add'l charge. There were no safes in the room to put your valuables in. Room service was quick and for the most part reasonably priced. But the quality of the meals was something to be desired. We did have a meal at their downstairs cafe. The place was rather empty, the wait staff not very helpful and the food not that good. The casino really needs help. We ended up at Harveys casino most of the time. As we do not snow ski, the casino was really our only activity while in Tahoe. The town itself really hasn't that much going on and that is why I will say that it may be a very long time before we venture back to Tahoe.

My family and I just returned from a week's trip to Lake Tahoe to ski Heavenly mountain and stayed at Harrah's. We've stayed there many times, but this was my first experience staying in the Summit Suites. These suites are typically reserved for Harrah's VIP casino guests and I can see why. The rooms are enormous....as bit as two small apartments and they are decorated impeccably Each suite has a large bedroom with sitting area and two separate bathrooms. One with a large Jacuzzi tub and the other with a steam shower. The Butler service is what sets these rooms apart. The staff is like nothing I've ever experienced at ANY hotel in my life. Every night they bring in milk in a carafe and home baked cookies along with a different cordial and . sweet delicacy. One night it was Hennessy cognac and chocolate Godiva cigars. The views of the lake and the mountains are breath-taking as well. I do agree with other reviews that the rest of the hotel and the casino itself are rather dated, but the hotel has obviously decided that putting money into the suites is the best return on their dollar. If you are fortunate enough to get one of these rooms, you won't be disappointed. Oh, and definitely eat at the Sage Room at Harvey's. Amazing steak dinner.

I would rate the hotel 4.5 stars. I stayed in an executive room on the 12th floor and it has spacious, renovated and had 2 bathrooms. There were only 2 of us but I could see if a family were staying, the two bathrooms would be great for getting started in the am. The bathrooms were not renovated but each has a shower/tub in addition to sink and toilet. Great views of the lake and mountatin.

My minor tips to management would be: (i) don't charge for the water and coffee and if you do, make it very obvious there is a charge, (ii) the 32" TV is small and (iii) update the bathrooms.

Friday Station steakhouse is good. Pretty pricey but great view and service. If you have a player's card, they knock off a couple dollars from the bill. Corkage is $20 but if you buy a bottle ask and they often will waive the corkage fee. They will decant and serve wine in appropriate stemware.

Casino is substandard. There are not many tables and it can get crowded. Also, too many 6:5 backjack, no surrender and double only on 10 or 11. There are some tables wth better rules but not open in during the day. Also lots of people who don't know how to play. They do have a separate pit at night with attractive scantily clad dealers which is fun but again with the bad rules.

All in all, I would definitely stay here and eat at Friday Station but I recommend skipping the casino.

Room Tip: I think a higher floor room is worth it as the views are excellent

Had a great stay. Suites are a perfect size. Plenty of room. Love the fact that there are two bathrooms in every room. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. EVERY staff member that we passed by smiled and said hello. They also have a wonderful weekend buffet with beautiful views!

Room Tip: Either side are great. One side faces Heavenly Valley and the other faces the lake.

Needed one night stay before we could check into our TS condo at Heavenly. Was surprised by the scratch/beat up looking furniture and worn carpet in our room 1008. It was at one time a nice room but needs an update. It was a ADA compliant room even though we did not need one or request one. Has two separate lavatories, one with a step in shower and one with a roll-in shower. Closet, etc. was set up for that too. Large room but seemed like it was missing a love-seat or couch by the window.

We made reservations through Orbitz and got an incredible mid-week price for a spacious room with his and her bathrooms! We had a great view of the Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. I highly recommend this for a mid-week get away. We watched the Oscars in the hotel room and then purchased all the Oscar nominated movies we had not seen yet. It was very fun catching up on some great movies in the comfort a beautiful room with a view while sharing a bottle of wine with sweaty. We will definitely do this again.

Room Tip: You want rooms over 9 stories for the view.
