“Hated Harveys”

For the prices stay somewhere else, room is nice, but they want you to pay for everything, internet access, food, coffee, etc I mean a cup of coffee in the morning isnt to much to ask when paying this kind of price is it? Stay at the Embassy suites across the street better value, I will never stay at harveys again.

This hotel, and the price I paid for it, is absolutely fantastic. Service is nearly perfect. Rooms are of ample size. I did have to clean hair off of the bathroom floor and some sticky stuff off of the drink cabinet but this is more than likely due to a lazy cleaning person and not hotel policy. The view in our room (luxury) was great and we were only on the 11th floor. The bed was very comfortable and the linens on the bed were clean and large. The bathroom set up is ingenious with a separation between the main sink/mirrors, the toilet, and another room with another sink/mirrors and a tub along with an additional shower stall. The bathroom is large enough to nearly be a room in itself. The restaurants were all great as far as food was concerned although the Carriage House is very expensive for what you get. The Hard Rock Cafe probably had the best food in the hotel for the best price. Many other eateries can be found in the "village" down the street within walking distance. The casino was very fun (lost money, however) and the connection underneath the street to Harrahs (sister hotel) is great as I would visit the casino over there often during my stay. I got the luxury room on a "spring fling" special through mid-late May for about $72 per night plus tax, etc. If I can get a price like this I will visit yearly. I did not want to leave. Be prepared to pay for food, however, since there is no microwave/fridge in the room.

  • Liked — Great room. Great service. Great location. Will return.
  • Disliked — I liked nearly everything. I did not want to leave.

We stayed two nights at Harvey's in a nice room on the 11th floor with a partial view of Lake Tahoe. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed but it wasn't quite as upscale as we had anticipated. We have stayed in two casino hotels in Bossier City, LA and both were much nicer than at Harvey's. Harvey's had one tv........the others had 3. Harvey's offered some amenities...the others offered many more. Harvey's furniture was pretty typical hotel stuff...the others were unique designs. There wasn't anything really wrong with Harvey's...it just didn't compare. Also be prepared to pay for everything. Wireless internet is $10.99 per 24 hour period. Pool and fitness room are $10 per day. No coffee maker in room. No terry robes. One sink in the combo bathroom. Maybe that's nitpicking. Otherwise a casino hotel is a casino hotel...always with fringe element customers (a bit of sleeze). Would we stay here again? Probably not.

The Hotel was lovely. The slots were not to bad either. The only thing bad was their restuarants Carriage House the food was horrible. The Fried Chicken was not fried all the way, in the middle the batter was still cake up. My husband hamburger was dry and had no taste. I heard someone else complained about their sandwich. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains with the snow. We were above the treeline.

  • Liked — The view of the lake and mountains and everyone friendly.
  • Disliked — The Carraige House Restaurant Bad Food

We just returned from our wedding at The Wedding Chapel at Harvey's Lake Tahoe. The wedding planner, Karri was wonderful. Flowers from the Harvey's florist were even more beautiful than the pictures I sent them. Cake was perfect. The chapel is beautiful and accommodates a smaller, intimate wedding party. I can honestly say, I would not change a thing for the wedding or choosing the Harvey's property.

Harvey's sold out of rooms so some last minute wedding guests stayed next door at the Horizon. I do NOT recommend the Horizon. The rooms at Horizon were in immediate need of repair. Air conditioning was disabled. The room was extremely hot and musty smelling so they provided a box fan from the security office. Also, the deadbolt on the door did not work and the Horizon did not bother to repair it.

When you check in to Harvey's, request the large room with a view of the mountain and lake. You will enjoy the view and spacious room. If you prefer a smaller, more modern room, ask for one of those.

We ate at Hard Rock twice during our stay, and both times had exceptional service and food, and Cabo Wabo had excellent mexican food and drinks.

The casino was a nice size as well. More laid back and comfortable than the Vegas mega-casinos. AND the waitresses actually brought drinks!

I was also impressed with how friendly and accommodating the staff was. I visit Vegas several times a year and it's rare to get a smile out of anyone.

Another nice ammenity is that Harvey's and Harrah's are connected by undergroung tunnel.

For a great steak, I recommend Cecil's across the street from the gondola. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the microbrews were excellent.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Harvey's property to anyone on any budget. Our wedding guests enjoyed their stay and have all said they plan to return.

Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did!

  • Liked — Nice rooms and ammenities
  • Disliked — Smokers...but it's expected in a casino

We just got home from a quick weekend in Tahoe. We stayed at Harveys.
We had a terrific time.

We stayed in one of the Lake Tower rooms on the California side - terrific view of the lake and mountains. The room was very spacious and super clean. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was really nice
with a separate shower and bathtub. The housekeeping service was great. No complaints at all.

Harveys is a very nice hotel with good service.

My husband and I stayed at Harveys, once again, and had a terrific stay. It's clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. And of course the view of Tahoe is stunning. The only downside is that they no longer have coffee machines in the rooms (that stopped a couple of years back), but we got a fantastic deal at only $45.00 mid week so we didn't mind running down to Starbucks!
