“Not that Impressed....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2005

Hi,
We just returned from a 2 night stay at Harveys. We ended up in a Mountain Tower room. The room was very, very small. The walls are paper thin. The drink service in the casino was pretty much non existant. We were in the casino once for about an hour with out a single cocktail waitress evedr coming by. We headed over the harrahs which was much better.

If you are deciding where to stay in Tahoe, i highly recomend Harrahs over Harverys. Harrahs rooms are much nicer and the service is alot better.

It was our first time to Lake Tahoe and we enjoyed our stay at Harveys very much. Staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was great when we ate there but some great choices outside the hotel as well which we preferred as we like to try different places. Room was very nice and clean we had nice views of the lake. We travelled with an infant and had problems with some of our luggage not arriving and having the use of the complimentary stroller was a big bonus. Overall the helpfulness of the staff was the big winner and we would stay there again.

We stayed this September in the Lake Tower. The room and the view were excellent. That was the only good thing there. Service desired to be better. The most maids didn't know English, so when asked to come back in an hour, they'd show up in 10 min or 5-6 hours later. And I coudn't say the rooms were spotless clean. I don't think they were vacuum cleaned either. The service desk was no use, couldn't or didn't want to help with any of our questions about the attractions around Tahoe. If you are not planning to gamble there, plan ahead, no one is going to help you. When we wanted to buy tickets to the show, we had the hardest time to find someone to sell it - you can not do it over the phone. And again the service desk was of no help. They really didn't look friendly. Keep in mind some take lunches in the most inconvenient time. It also take more then an hour or two.

Stayed in the lake tower. Very nice rooms. TV in the bathroom. Separate shower, tub, toilet. The room was very clean. Service overall was excellent, including VIP services, dealers, housekeeping. Drink service in the casino is average.
As far as the restaurants go, Pacifica is overpriced and the quality of the food is average. The Carriage House is excellent.
The overall ambiance of Harvey's is less rowdy than most casinos I have been to.
I would recommend Harvey's to anyone.
