“MontBleu in July”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

Parking is free and outdoor or garage. Front desk registration went well and fast. Elevators were working and fast. The room was a mix of older furniture and fat TV but the beds were nice. The room was clean and in working order on arrival. The A/C worked very well. The bathroom was nice and large. I enjoyed the shower. This was a non-smoking room but you can still smell the after-effects of smoke. The room did have a large bubbly spa next to the bed. The gambling slots were horrible. Not many machines and the odds were not in the players favor. The views from the hotel top floors were fantastic.

Room Tip: We have stayed here twice and the higher the floor, the better.

MontBleu is an EXCELLENT place to stay if you're in your 20s-30s. Even all ages would have a fantastic time here. Reasonable rooms, amazing pool and spa, awesome food, casino, and nightlife. My boyfriend and I had a hard time leaving the hotel! Our concierge Nardeep hooked it up upon arrival, and seeing her multiple times throughout the weekend made our stay super personal. Great time overall! I'd definitely stay at MonteBleu again...especially for the $1 tacos and margaritas happy hour at Cafe del Sol and discounted entry at Opal nightclub!

Upon check in the staff does not know what style of room you are getting. They really need training. Some rooms have a Jacuzzi in the bathroom& some are located next to the bed, which leaves you with a horrible bathroom layout. And we requested a specific room ahead of our visit,
Which was a total waste of time because when we arrived they still gave us a room that we did not care for. Why spend time on the phone request a specific room I do not know.......

The reviews for this hotel are quite varying. My experience was great in every way, except for some noisy yahoos that feel like speaking as if they were back at the farm at 3:00 am. Outside of this experience, all else was great. Let me elaborate.

Pros:

1.- Check in was smooth, quick and easy. Free valet service for car. Just tip the guys.
2.- Room 817 was nice with a lovely partial view of Lake Tahoe. Too bad casino's roof was also in the view. Too bad. Such is life - :)
3.- Bed - king size and extremely comfortable.
4.- Room was very well appointed. Absolutely no complaints, especially when one is paying out $420 for 4 nights. There are also hotel fees, too. Nevertheless, for a summer in Lake Tahoe I was very, very pleased with the room price.
5.- Jacuzzi/shower was interesting and a nice extra. This could be a bit more difficult for an aging person to climb into it - so consider if another room without a Jacuzzi would be beneficial.
6.- Bathroom quite luxurious. All told, the room was fantastic for the price.

There is a large pool and hot tub. Nice, but too many kids.

I did not play at the tables, nor eat at the restaurants, so I can't comment on that.

The only complaint was the loud idiots next door. A phone call to the front desk must have worked. Too bad idiots abound.

In all, I would gladly return to this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: I had room 817. Sufficiently high to have a good view of the lake, considering that Harrahs was bloc...

Made reservations for a week's stay in this hotel. Arrived after a long 250 mile drive. Checked into our room and it was outdated from the bed's mattresses to the old fashioned TV. Before we went out to dinner we set the air conditioner thermostat at 80 degrees since we are not fond of cold rooms. Came back from dinner and the thermostat read 66! Had to sleep with the heat on to get it at the right temperature. Next day we checked out and was fortunate to find a house rental that was perfect and close to the National Forest. Bell captain said they intend to remodel and probably will be not affordable to stay!

Room Tip: Do not bother until they remodel.

My husband and I went to lake for a quick weekend get away. After reading all the other reviews we were a little worried about staying at hotel but didn't want to pay $300 for other casino. So we went for it... Yes it definitely needs to be renovated, but for the price it worked. Only complaint doors are very thin, party group next to us they were loud. Other wise room was comfy, food and service were great.

My husband and I spent the first night of our honeymoon at this hotel 32 years ago, when it was the Caesars. It was amazing then with a fantastic pool and great rooms. Over the years we visited many times. Unfortunately, we were up there 2 months ago and were horrified to see how the property has become run down. I suggest that you steer clear of the MontBleu until they renovate the property. There are other, much more enjoyable lodging venues in Stateline and in other places around the lake. Try the Hyatt at North Shore. They have the FABULOUS Lone Eagle Grill, one of our favorite places for Sunday brunch at Lake Tahoe. Visit Lake Tahoe, but skip MontBleu until they get their act together again!

Room Tip: Skip all the rooms and lodge elsewhere.
