“Friendly people, dated facility”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa seems to have a friendly staff. The rooms however are somewhat dated. The location of the property is terrific. Nice lake views if you can get one of the rooms facing the lake.

Yes, I have one of those wife's who very tough critic (aren't most woman?).

So here's my review. We got the suite and it was outstanding. Love the big tub/shower. The bed was comfortable. Good price on the room. The food was better than the reviews and the Casino is best of all of them. Parking was easy and free. The only thing I didn't like was check in (thru Bookit) and they made it much worse than it was. They ladies need more training. There is a Starbucks right when you get out of the Elevators (I don't drink coffee, but wife does and that is points for me) . I give this place a B.

Wife's review. Hated it. Casino was tight (they all are). The room walls were paper thin and you could hear the next room. So, we go to bed early and she kept on hearing doors slamming and people talking down the hallway to interrupt sleep. We came on Memorial Day week-end which was one of the worst because all of the young people were here for partying. There was liquid on the elevator on Sunday morning from the partiers that put the wife in even worse critical mood. Honestly, those were here two biggest gripes, but it put her in a bad critical mood the entire time. So, next time, we may stay at one of the other resorts away from the casinos.

Let's face it, the casinos/hotels in tahoe are the worst compared to Reno, Vegas, and even some of the Indian Casinos in California. The "Lake" sells. When gambling, Tahoe is easily the place I do not want to be. But, to enjoy that fresh forest smell and clean lake and walking around taking in all in, easily the best of all 3 major gambling cities.

Room Tip: Get the 7th floor, that is where the suites are. We got it for the regular room rate.

We come up mid-week and hardly share an elevator with other guests.
Great prices but the deal-sealer is the jacuzzi tub in the living room - great for all your aches.
Could use some up-grades here and there such as flat screens tvs.
Soft beds and lots of pillows.
Good deal - we'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the center to avoid elevators, both guest & service, and ice machines.

The hotel is a great place to spend weekdays and evenings. During the weekend it can become crowded. The rooms could use a little updating but otherwise the rooms are large and comfortable, The strong upsides are very reasonable rates (weekdays), excellent views, plenty of free parking, and an ideal location. The adjacent CVS pharmacy is very handy. On the downside are a ridiculous resort charge, an old television, and beat up furnishings. AARP members can receive a great rate through association's website. Yes, this is the place for me to have a relaxing weekday stay!!!!. Yu will have the best of South Shore Lake Tahoe at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: The higher floors offer a superior view.

We booked on the last minute (within the day) and not expecting much.
To our surprise, it was a very nice hotel and a price that cannot be beaten.

Pros
- Big rooms.
- Comfortable beds.
- Very spacious bathroom.
- Everything's clean.
- Free tokens were given to the kids to play in their arcade.
- Big car park.

Cons
- None really and for the price, it's a steal
- No refrigerator.

Room Tip: If you have time, use their facilities, like the swimming pool. It is included in the hotel fee.

Thanks to their "Spring Fling" deal, I was able to book a two-night stay for the price of one night for an impromptu spring break getaway. Check-in was a breeze though I was told they put a "hold" on debit cards that was quoted to me as my room rate per night for however many nights I was staying. I was glad I was only staying two nights! I was given a room at the end of one of the halls on the 5th floor and with that plus the price, I wasn't expecting 4-5 star accommodations, but I was pleasantly surprised! The room was very spacious with a king bed (with updated plush bedding and plenty of pillows), a love seat couch, a desk, and a big open bathroom with a separate vanity area. The furniture is kind of old and worn and could use an upgrade as well as the older T.V. but for the price, not a big deal. While wi-fi was complimentary, it is for their slowest speed. To get a faster speed they charged $4.95/day for an upgrade. I had some trouble at first upgrading and noticing the difference but that may have been my device. It eventually worked fine and was indeed faster than their complimentary wi-fi. My biggest complaint was the noise from the heavy old doors (that probably date back to the old Caesar's days) that are hard to close without slamming and the fact that the crack under the door lets in all of the other noise from the hallway. So if you're a light sleeper be prepared to be awaken by slamming doors in the early morning hours. Again, no major complaints because the price and location was right!

Room Tip: Sign up for their e-mails and the usually offer deals during non-peak times of year for rooms that a...
