“Fun and Solid!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

This is a great place to stay on the South Shore...I have stayed in many different rooms and so I will write this one review for all my stays.

First, this was the premier place to stay in the 1980's when it was Caesar's Tahoe. It has gone through a ruff patch since selling the property, but the current owners are really trying and every time I come I see improvements!

They have great entertainment here, not many places to eat, but their buffet is the best dollar for dollar on the Lake.

Freakers Ball! Halloween is a must see!

They try hard to bring you a quality product at a good price.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in or around the 19,21, 23 rooms 12th floor or higher! Excellent lake view

“Dated hotel, but great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We stayed at the MontBleu after Xmas. Great value and comfortable beds. Loved the huge bathroom. But the shower is odd (huge bath that is awkward to step into) and you can't shower privately since it is in the main bathroom without a door. Probably needs to be updated. Room was way too warm too. For skiiers or gamblers, this is a great place to stay. Close to everything in South Lake Tahoe. Great covered parking garage too. We will probably be back.

“horrible/dirty accomadations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

upon arrival there was only one valet on a sunday afternoon, literally running to pick cars up and drop cars off. then the very rude and uppty hotel clerk, she did not want to be bothered with any of my ?'s or concerns about anything....WIFI is a joke it is so outdated that nothing but a laptop works and it isn't FREE to their hotel guests......walking to our room there had been someone's lunch tray for room service to pick up and it been there long enough the aujus from the french dip sandwich was gelling......we walked into our room; right there in the entry was a used dental floss string. i kicked it to the side of the entry, one i don't want to pick it up and two to see if the maids would clean .......the air/heating in the room was so poor we turned it off. the beds are horrific, my husband spent most of our two long nights there on the floor........the room service tray was in the hallway the second day, too, no one had picked up the tray......the next day when we returned to our room after the maid had been there, that dental floss had not been touched it was in the same spot as it was before......and the baby powder that was spilled on the bathroom floor from getting ready that morning was still on the bathroom floor. ALL the decor; the headboards and all the technology is so outdated and old and DIRTY!!!!!!!!
WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!
We upgraded our room for a view of the lake at a 30.00 a night fee and that was the only thing great about the whole hotel was the view of the lake...
the second morning we were all three so miserable, that we were up and packed and out of this horrible hotel priot to 8 am and we usually stay until the check out being 12 pm here. No way, not at this dirty uncomfortable place. there was only one chair and two queen beds no coffee pot in room and no refrigerator either.
We feel that a refund is appropriate, that is for sure........

Room Tip: go to embassy suites or best western hotels.

Jessica F, Marketing at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, responded to this review
January 17, 2013
Hi Kathy,

My name is Jessica and I work in the marketing department here at MontBleu. I want to thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is very important to us to know where we fell short of your expectations and failed to provide you the service you deserve so we can fix these items in the future.

In regards to your hotel stay, I’d like to apologize for the issues you encountered. We realize that our rooms are a bit outdated in terms of décor and that it is frustrating to pay for Wi-Fi. However, we do mention on our website that Wi-FI is available for a fee, and we also feature a few photos of our rooms so you can see what the décor might look like ahead of time before you book your stay.

Also, while we do our best to make sure a room is completely spotless, sometimes items can be overlooked. In the future, please call us and we will immediately address and fix the issue. We have 24 hour maid service available that could have been called to clean up the items you mentioned. Same thing in regards to the tray left in the hallway. While this is certainly not excusable, we hope that our guests will inform us of issues so we can fix them quickly.

I also want to apologize for the poor service you encountered with the hotel clerk. She should of given you 100% of her attention to make sure all of your questions and concerns were answered, and I am very sorry this did not happen. I have forwarded your review to our hotel manager so he can discuss with his team ways we can work on our service. We never want a guest to have a poor experience staying with us and encourage everyone to let us know as soon as they encounter an issue so we can address it immediately.

We sincerely appreciate your business and hope you will decide to visit MontBleu again in the future. Again, thank you for your review and feedback.

Cheers,

Jessica

“Average and Worthy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Stayed here recently the weekend before Xmas where Tahoe got the first big snow storm and it was incredible. We checked-in on a late Friday evening no wait in line, the room was decent 2 full sizes bed, tv is a outdated where's the flat screen? but whatever i didn't go to Tahoe to watch tv... the shower/tub was a bit strange..imo the room would be more suitable for couples or family but friends are fine. so basically the only thing separating from the sink and shower/tub is the curtain! There is no door to bathroom except for where the toilet is and no fan. It used to be Caesar so they still have the roman theme, overall the room was nice and room service was quick especially late in the evening 2am! check out opal ultra lounge the drinks are decently strong and cheap!

“New Year's Party was a waste of money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

We were planning to celebrate New Year's there and bought last minute tickets for $85 a piece hoping for something decent and presentable. Unfortunately, this place was full of ski bums and other assorted characters. Hostility and testosterone levels were high. There slot machine area was hot and there was only one line to get a admission bracelet despite the fact that there were 3 different "clubs".
Out of those 3 "clubs", there was only one you could really celebrate the New Year's, the other 2 were just mindless music. The lines to buy drinks were kinda long, so many of us didn't even bother. As soon as the New Year's came and went we left the place to continue festivities at our resort.
