Great price and very good accomodatioins. Large room with comfortable bed. Located within 200 feet of a casino with good food at moderate prices. This is a gem. Highly recommend. Parking is only drawback Parking lot shared with casino. Lot is sometimes very full.

Room Tip: Don't take luggage to registration. Registration is in casino and rooms are in a building separa...

The hotel and casino - much better casino than hotel - is within the grouping of Peppermill Casinos. All the glitz, all the machines, with ALL the payouts, without the exorbitant prices.

The restaurants are great, the steakhouse one of the best in the area. The Marina Cafe brings 24hr great value and great food to Sparks. And the staff will treat you like family if you're on an extended stay, or a regular.

That's where the glamour falls off. The waitstaff is usually fantastic. But because they are used to dealing with regulars in this local hang out, they can quickly forget about customer service. 95% of the time it's the best, friendliest experience you could hope for. The other 5% may leave you walking out the door however, vowing never to come back.

We were on an extended business stay there for three months, and knew most of the staff by first names at the end of our assignment. Again, 95% top notch. Jim the bartender, Irina the manager for The Marina Cafe, and Robert and Josephina, both servers, were impeccable. What great folks.

But when you walk out of the casino, expect to smell like a pack of stale cigarettes. And need a remote for your TV in the hotel room? They don't have them. Along with coffee makers, hair dryers, or irons; they cite thefts as being the reason they can't stock them in the room.

The truck stop next door may have something to do with it. And out vehicle was broken into once during our three months there. Security did take a report, but the whole incident was handled nonchalantly.

The staff keeps folks coming back there. The locals all know that. But the locals don't need hotel amenities. Travelers do. So if you're a local - this is a great hang out! But if your passing through, drive the rest of the way into Reno.

You'll be a little lighter in the wallet. But a lot more satisfied.

Room Tip: Don't go in with typical casino hotel expectations. Expect a great bed - they have them. Then ex...

My husband and I have stayed now 2 times here at Western Village and we love it!! The rooms are very clean, affordable and quiet. We love the food and the atmosphere and the fact it's easy to get to. I will come back time after time and even told my adult kids this is the place to come and stay when they are here. I can't wait for my birthday as I am choosing Western Village in Sparks as the place to stay. Thanks for a wonderful time!!

Room Tip: The king rooms are very nice. I love the rooms on the lake side for the view.

I stayed 1 week, I found fecal stains on the bathroom towels, I requested a ground floor room due to being handicaped, but got a 3rd room instead, but they said "don't worry about it as we have an elevator and we will give you a room with a view of the marina, which actually turned out to be a view of a BRICK wall, the tub did not work, 3 times during my stay I had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper, the house keeper NEVER supplied any, My credit card was over charged 15% everytime I went to the restraunt, in talking to the restraunt manager she said "Oh we don't do that, your bank does that", when I went to see the General manager, security advised me that I can't see him as he does not take complaints!!! and there is more, but whats the point......If your looking for a hotel in Reno/Sparks, DON'T stay here

Just spent 4 nights in this place. Body odor smell? NO. Dirty? NO. Dirty beds? NO. Friendly staff? YES. Nice casino, had good luck there. Bellini's restaurant was very good and resonably priced for lunch. Drink girls were plentiful and nice. I'm really not sure about the complaints I've seen on here, I certainly didn't see any truth to them. Or maybe they expected the Atlantis on $30 bucks a night???? Not sure when I'll be going back to Reno, but would NOT hesitate booking this motel again. Pity poor dlbinth.....all he has to do with his time is look at the art work? HAHAHA.......

Room Tip: If you like view, get rooms overlooking the Marina.

Clean nice rooms. Quiet! Typical Casino. Mistakenly ate in resturant which is good amexican (not spicy) Boooo! Must shower and wash cloths afterward. Ask for the fajitas Camerones cooked specially with Chipotle! Not on menu. It will drown the cigarette smell. Anyways . Nice lake with beaches walking path, and dog friendly. Short drive to downtown and cheaper rates! Will be back.

I stayed here for a few nights with some friends. The room was clean but tired. The hallways and exterior were also tired. It was a bit depressing and kind of a dump. The rooms were $35 a night so I should not / did not expect much.
PS: There are about 8 different prints that are used for hallway / room artwork. I amused myself counting the repeating patterns of the prints. I really liked the same print directly across from its twin in one hallway.

Room Tip: Facing east provides a "marina" view. The Marina is not much to look at. It loks like a...
