“Nice people, nice room, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

The air conditioning unit in our room was right at the foot of our bed. When it came on, it made so much noise that it was impossible to hear the TV - except by turning the sound up extraordinary high. Then, when the A/C stopped, the sound was blasting! It was a very warm night so the unit went on and off several times in the night - never failing to wake us up. Never had a bad experience at a Marriott before, but this was really a bit of bad engineering.

Room Tip: Stay away from 126!

I stayed here for a business trip. I prefer to stay at a Marriott Courtyard as I don't need a full kitchen for a quick business trip, but all of the non-casino hotels were booked. I must say... this place was really nice. The rooms were clearly renovated with granite counters and modern furniture. The room and grounds were quite and clean, and the staff was very nice.

I can't remember the name of the front desk lady when we checked in on 7June2013 in the afternoon. She was very nice and I want to thank her for upgrading us to the 2 bedroom suite. I am a Platinum member and travel abroad. This was excellent customer service.

Even though I wanted to stay in Lake Tahoe area since I love the water, this hotel was a good location near to restaurants and grocery stores.

All the main restaurants are off South VA street.

Our suite was very clean and breakfast was fresh every morning. We stayed with 2 teenagers so the pool helped a lot too. I recommend this hotel for families.

It's hard to imagine a better location or room for our recent visit to Reno for our niece's graduation from University of Nevada-Reno. Family lives only 7 minutes away, and the airport is just a 15 minute drive. The room we had was an efficiency suite, and had a full kitchen, spacious living room alcove, and king size bed. The split bathroom was another bonus. The nice size closet easily accommodated our clothing. The room was very clean, quiet, and the bedding was comfortable.

Front Desk service was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

Some comments, though:
1. The only internet access was via wi-fi, which was complimentary, but I much prefer the higher speed and reliability of a hard-wired internet connection option, like many Marriotts have.
2. The complimentary breakfast buffet was adequate, but more fruit options would have been welcome. Also, the hours were too short- from 6:30 AM to 9 PM is not the most ideal for vacationers like us who might want to sleep a little later.

We'd definitely stay here again when visiting our family in Reno.

Yes, you are correct, our location is just right - near the airport, Reno downtown/UNR and a mid- point if you are heading to Lake Tahoe!

The Staff was extremely cordial and willing to do whatever they could to accomodate us. Our room was perfect - better and more comfy than we anticipated. We were there during the Candy Dance held in nearby Genoa. The room was fresh and well stocked! Couldn't have asked for more.

Room Tip: We did not use room service nor the spa. However, the location is great - close to wonderful shops a...

Only got to stay here 1 night before flying out the next morning. Hotel was very clean, staff was beyond helpful and friendly. The hotel was absolutely impeccably clean, the room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. My only issue was that the bed was not quite as comfortable as I would have liked - although my husband thought it was fabulous and slept like a baby. Admittedly, I have low back and hip pain issues, so a bed has to be off the charts comfortable for me. The bed wasn't awful, just not as comfortable as other hotel beds I've experienced. That being said, it was a great stay and we want to return to Reno to actually have a chance to check out the city. We ate at Sierra Gold around the corner from the hotel and had a really good meal and some fantastic service from Kat! What we saw and experienced in Reno makes us want to return and we will. We'd highly recommend the Residence Inn!

We stayed here one night before my wife’s flight from Reno. We stayed on a certificate so we didn’t have to pay for the room but that did not influence my review.

When we arrived and the front desk the staff was so friendly. Very outgoing and they appreciated the fact that we were gold members and thanked us many times for staying with Marriott. I don’t know how they treat regular guests but based on their demeanor I would guess that they treat everyone the same.

We had a studio room on the second floor. The room was spacious and clean. It looks like they recently refreshed the rooms. Everything worked and the kitchen area was clean along with the silverware and glasses.

The linens were clean and not worn. Pillows were OK maybe they could have been better, a little lumpy.

The room was relatively quiet. I heard some noise from the floor above but nothing major.

This hotel is close to the airport, about five minutes and they do have a shuttle if you need it.

Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations and was above some of the other RI I have stayed at in the past.

Great job. Keep up the good work
