“We enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Cons: Major slow check in. Took us 45minutes and a group next to us was there when we got there and still trying to check in when we left. Pros: The people. Everyone spoke to us: bell boys, room service waiters, maids, etc.....well, everyone except the suit and tie guys who ignored you even if you spoke to them. Rooms were clean, nicely decorated, comfortable. We were there for a group thing with all catered meals. The catered meals were excellent. Non smoking room was clean smelling. Disabled rooms were very accessible and large enough for wheelchair maneuverability. Large place. Be prepared to walk long distances no matter what you are trying to locate.

I have been coming here on and off through all the management and name changes....this place is the best of the best. Loved the modern décor throughout, and especially in the rooms, which were large and well done. The place was very clean, and once all the renovations are completed, this is going to be "The" place to stay in Reno.

I thought the restaurants were all excellent (tried 3 of them), although I was not blown away by the buffet; it was nice. Loved the race and sports book, and the poker room was small, but had a good time at the tournaments.

From front desk (Thanks Jessica) to departure, the real difference is the people. I have been in scores of casinos and for me, what makes the experience is the staff, especially the dealers. At GSR, they engage you, ask your name, remember your name, and pass your name along to the next dealer. Who does that?? No other casino I have ever been to!!

Loved the on-site bowling, food choices, convention area, fitness center..the list goes on. This is my new go-to place in Reno!

The only knock I had was that my room wasn't cleaned by 3:30, when I came back. Not a big deal since I am not a slob, but would have been nice to come back to a clean room. Also, no tub in my room, so if you want one, you may need to upgrade.

If you're staying in Reno, NV., the Grand Sierra Resort is THE place to stay. Great prices for great rooms, all kinds of amenities above and beyond the norm, food to make anyone happy, and the most friendly, outgoing and helpful personnel I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Overall, AMAZING!

Room Tip: We stayed in very nice room with a single king sized bed. Great room. Nest time I think we'll...

The upgraded, very large, comfortable room overlooked the pool (filthy looking bottom), golf range, airport and city-nice. Convienent to airport, shuttle and taxi easily available. Casino had plenty of machines (non-smoking area good) and large sports area. Bowling, theater and shopping available on site as well. Desk service needs more staff at all times, had to wait long at check in & out behind one customer. When wake-up call did not go through, security came to our room to insure we were up - excellent.

Went to be with friends, not because we were interested in this place. The buffet restaurant was OK. The steakhouse was delicious, though I had fish. The room was moderate - not too big, not too small. Definitely what one might expect from a hotel room. Adequate.
