“Good Hamburgers but expensive for a college hangout”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2009

This place has very good food, especially the hamburgers which it is known for. But I feel this is overpriced for a college campus type of restaurant. Most customers appeared to be the young Professor crowd and local business people.

“Good food and views of downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2007

Since Archie's re-opened after an extensive overhaul, I've found the menu to be the same delicious food but the views of downtown to be very impressive. The menu is full of hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and other typical diner fare. I enjoy the grilled cheese with tomato, and often add a side salad or their delicious onion rings (not too greasy, and always freshly cooked).

The new building is 2-story, with the same downstairs "diner" atmosphere of the old Archie's - but upstairs is a long bar and a good-sized balcony for outside dining if the weather is good.

Archie's is located across the street from the north end of the University of Nevada, Reno. It has a small parking lot and fills up quickly at breakfast and lunch (I've never been for dinner since it re-opened, so I can't vouch for that), and also on game days. Go early for the meals, you won't be sorry.
