Golden Flower Vietnamese is close to the University of Nevada, Reno campus so I go there for lunch quite a bit frequently with my colleagues. There's no real atmosphere, just a big room with lots of tables, but I rather think it's the kind of atmosphere a bustling asian restaurant like this should have. It's great for what it is.
It a huge menu, with nearly 100 items including pho, stir-fried dishes, appetizers, Banh Mi - Vietnamese sandwiches, and some speciality entrees. Many of the dishes are Chinese with a Vietnamese name, such as Mi Xao Mem Ga - Chicken Chow Mein. I usually go for the Bun Bi - barbecued pork with noodles served in a bowl with some shredded vegetables, bean sprouts, and a clear, piquant sauce, which seems to be vinegar-based. It's great!
The restaurant is chaos at lunchtime as the restaurant fills with a mix of tourists, locals, and employees of the nearby St. Marys hospital. The service is fast, the food is always consistently good, and the prices are reasonable.
