“This is great family ski area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

We've made a special ski vacation from back east for the last four years during the school breaks. We always spend two days here when staying at one of the Reno casinos as it is quick trip up to the mountain. On almost every trip we can't do The Chutes because they are invariably closed. But, it is still a great value for the price of the lift ticket and rentals. It has some challenging runs, say Central. For easier runs, depending on the sun, try Big Bonanza and Silver Dollar.

“End of Season at Mt. Rose”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Since it was the end of the season the snow quality was sliding down hill quickly (no pun).

There were no lift lines and the two express chairs move you more than 1,500 vertical feet in less than five minutes.

“Great Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

This is not a resort you have to spend all your vacation $ in one day like Heavenly or Northstar. The runs are fun and challenging, and staff is very good.

“Family friendly, good staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We made our first family ski trip this month and a friend recommended we head to Mt. Rose, we are so glad we did! It was family friendly, easy slopes, and an all around good time. The Rosebuds school for snowboarding for my 3 kids was good and the staff on the kids side to get them up and out the door was helpful and kind to the kids. The adult ski school had great instructors who cared, were patient, and thoughtful.

There were a few snags in regards to ticket purchasing, you can't be at the window and mention the online pricing, they want you to step out of line and purchase tickets online and then get back into line to be processed. When traveling it seems a bit counterproductive and annoying, some staff members were more helpful than others in this regard.

“Top value family fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Plenty of snow still on the ground for great Spring skiing. Best of all is the incredible value you can get by ordering tickets on line. We were 2 adults and three kids. Total cost $193 which included a free lunch and drink for the kids and $40 towards the adults food & drinks. Top, top value. Nice motorway velvet for Mrs who likes it easy and slow, and more challenging stuff for the kids. Get there for opening, as by 1pm, the snow was going off. Having skied just about all of Lake Tahoes resorts, this is by far the best value family resort. Great views too.
