“A great place for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

This is a really great place for kids. Lots of hands on activities and places to play. Highly recommend a visit to keep the kids busy, have fun and learn some things at the same time.

“Great Way to spend the afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Our planned 2 hour visit to the museum developed into an all day adventure. There were enough hands on activities to keep my two pre-teen grandsons engrossed in building construction, seismic activity, plumbing and Interactive Nevada history. I was able to find a chair in a nice area and spend some quality reading time while the boys explored. Guides are plentiful and readily available to explain how to participate in the various activities and they seem like they really enjoy being around kids that ask alot of questions.

Some of the exhibits could be freshened up -keep ink pads damp- make sure paper is available where needed
-fix the earthquake graph machine so kids can print and take home their graph- but all in all a very educational experience - we look forward to new exhibits and my grandsons have requested a different configuration in the cloud climber (if possible)

“Weary parents, rejoice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

By the time we ended up at the Discovery Museum, I was exhausted. Not so my 7 year old grandsons! They spent several hours happily racing boats (and rubber ducks) at the water feature, darted in amongst various exhibit rooms and had fun touching, feeling, climbing and building. Staff members were present but unobtrusive -- stepping in when appropriate, but basically there to mop up and observe. The atmosphere was lively but very safe and I had no problem eventually claiming a chair to rest while Orion and Kael carried on. I literally had to drag the boys out when it came time for us to go!

“Reno's best entertainment for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We got a membership to the Discovery for Christmas 2011. We were able to go many times over the course of the year. My son even won Harlem Globetrotter's tickets when we went to a Globetrotter's demo there one afternoon. We even went again last month (January) after our membership had expired. All of my kids (6-13.5 years) love going there and we always stay for at least 2 hours. Such a fun AND educational place for kids. You can bring a lunch with you to eat in the lunchroom. Bring email addresses of Grandmas and Grandpas with you to email photo postcards.
