We were committed to trying some new restaurants on this trip to Reno. We are so happy we found the Bistro Napa! They offer 7-day a week "social hour" with half priced food and drink. It was so good we went back a second time to enjoy more of the offerings.
Ok, I started with the big positives. Here are the negatives; it is on the second floor, in a casino. Smoking is allowed at the Atlantis so you walk through the smoke to the elevator. The second floorsis supposed to be smoke-free but on our first visit a woman was smoking in the hallway. There is no smoking in the restaurant.
The second floor .does offer a smoke-free casino area, a kid game area, and a couple other restaurants.
Social hour is from 4 until 6 everyday, including weekends. What a deal.
Back to the Bistro Napa plusses. The social hour menu is eight pages long with one devoted to food. Everything we got was exceptional. We had Asian Chicken wraps (could have been slightly more spicy), they came with two sauces; crab and Kobe beef sliders, they came with tiny fries and sauces; steamed clams, & escargot.
The hibiscus Manhattan was excellent as was the Kentucky Slang. They offer several varities of Sokol Blosser wine, which I love. Other wines, liquors and cocktsils are available.
The service both nights was excellent; dishes came out piece-meal as they were prepared, which was just right. Be sure to ask for a bread basket for non bread foods and enjoying any extra sauce!
Another warning. One the first visit we sat near the door, at the hallway. On the second visit we wanted to feel like we were actually in the restaurant so sat further in, near the bar. Unfortunately, it was also near the register which proved to be a hectic area. So, choose your seat carefully.
