“Basic with nice perks.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013 via mobile

Well the rooms are basic but spacious and clean. Mostly...the couch looked old and sad enough that I didn't want to sit on it. The king bed was plush and comfortable, although the pillows were oddly tiny. Unfortunately I was allergic to them, and they did not have hypoallergenic pillows. the kitchen was well equipped, even with a dishwasher!

What makes staying here pleasant though are the nice perks like an extensive breakfast buffet...waffles, fresh fruit (grapefruit was super appreciated), oatmeal, omelettes, bagels, basically anything you could wish for. And there is happy hour with a lot of food too. There is an extensive gym, as well as a small pool and hot tub. I didn't use any of them, but they looked clean and well kept enough to use.

Overall it met all my expectations, and then some, hence the four stars. Great job!

Great staff, modern room, huge bed, nice jacuzzi and exercise area, exactly what we were looking for. We were just driving through Reno, but really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is pet-friendly, and offers complimentary breakfast and dinner, with alcohol. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a western facing view. The sunsets over the mountains were amazing.

There aren't many hotel options that are of the non-casino type/hype that provide kitchens so that we can cook & thereby stay away from the requisite salty buffets et al + food offerings of casinos. Not to mention spacious, clean & comfortable. So here we are back at Staybridge; this time we received a 4th floor room & had peace/quiet for our 2 day weekend stay. YES!! Huge difference. The room was cleaner than the 1 we previously wrote about & I would rate it higher if it weren't for some maintenance issues like missing kitchen items. Apparently there should be a service for 5 but in our experience(s), a service for 4 was evident. This time forks & spoons were a service for 3. It was evident that glassware was lacking as well. That & the robe hook that missed my pumpkin head when I set a heavy robe on it was a bit heart startling when it hit the floor. Good thing it didn't hit my head or this review might have an entirely different take. Evidence that maintenance is needed. These issues were brought to their attention at checkout & so hopefully, maintenance will address them in time for the next guest.
That said, we enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, a separate living are so hubby can surf channels while I sleep (he does this most at ~2am); he makes an excellent expresso that in & of itself cannot compare elsewhere. I'm biased & spoiled in this regard. :-)
Breakfast was typical, it will sustain you as long as you don't have requirements in terms of dietary restrictions: requisite composite eggs either scrambled or w/processed cheesed ala mini omelet. Oatmeal w/condiments. Waffles in a timed waffle maker w/condiments. Hard boiled eggs, coffee, juices etc. Families were quite happy from what I saw. Meanwhile, the refer in our room is keeping our chicken, salad, eggs, et all well chilled for our breakfast/lunch/dinner. And, rather than over packing, our clothes are being washed/dried in their free laundry area on the first floor. Unfortunately this time I brought my swim suit & the pool/spa was closed for repairs. Another reason for a docked star since no one advised us of this either at reservation time or at check-in. We learned by reading the sign at the pool/spa facility.
It was sad to see minor things like wear & tear on the chairs both in the unit & downstairs where meals are held. While all appeared quite clean, it seems to me that minor maintenance would help to keep up appearances that reflect what Staybridge Suites is & should be.
All personnel at this location were friendly, professional & with them alone, a reason to give 5 stars!

Room Tip: No pets, need quiet then ask for the top 4th floor.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Staybridge on our way to California. The room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the fresh and hot breakfast bar before continuing on our journey. I would highly recommend this property.

Stayed here for a night on my way to Burning Man. The rooms are extremely nice, clean, and up to date. We had a king bed, couch, kitchen area, with the room measuring about 500 square feet. The staff was extremely helpful, and the breakfast was top notch.

We are on vacation from Indiana to California. We've been having a lot of luck with Holiday Inn Express hotels. I used Tripadvisor to map out our trip and saw that this hotel was on our path. I don't think we have ever stayed at a Staybridge brand hotel. We are very impressed. It's a home away from home. We got a 2 Queen suite. Love the living room area to relax during the day. The full kitchen was perfect. We've been gone for a week and the free laundry was so helpful! Free internet that worked fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and had a fantastic variety. The manager special in the evenings was perfect and we didn't even have to venture out to eat. Overall I was shocked by the amenities. We have already booked another stay at Staybridge because of how happy we were with this experience.

My husband and I just checked in yesterday. We are here in Reno for 4 months. We initially considered leasing a condo but as an afterthought, decided to check out hotels for long term stays. We visited several but the Staybridge Suites stood out. We chatted with the front desk person on our first visit. She was very helpful and friendly and showed us a King Bedroom Suite. We liked what we saw: a comfortable king size bed; separate shower/toilet area; sink vanity; good sized closet; TV in bed room; a separate living area with another TV, sofabed, 2 cocktail tables, a desk and comfortable desk chair; a nice sized kitchen area with larger stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, small sink with garbage disposal, microwave, and toaster. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans, and utensils. There is a small counter that seats two for eating.
We came back the next day and met with Kelly, the manager. She is a delightful person-has been at this hotel since pre-opening. We asked lots of questions and she patiently answered everyone. We learned that the maids would provide fresh towels, trash emptying, and bedmaking daily except on Sat and Sun and clean the unit and change the bed linens once weekly. Breakfast is provided everyday and dinner Tues, Wed. and Thursday. We had the dinner last night after checking in and it was very tasty with beverages included-BBQ sliders; salad; beer; soft drinks, tea. There are always cookies at the front desk on dinner nights as well. Laundry facilities are free. We have a nice size storage closet on our floor as well which holds all of our now empty luggage with room to spare. I imagine these are for long term guests. Breakfast this a.m. was great-waffles, eggs, biscuits, fresh fruit, hot oatmeal, cereals, coffee, tea, and I'm sure I'm omitting something. We slept very soundly on the extremely comfortable beds. The maid has been by already with fresh towels and trash service and bed making. She was very nice and accomodating. We are off to a good start with our extended stay here in Reno. We could not be happier with the Staybridge Suites-Reno.

Room Tip: West side faces mountains.
