“Clean and inviting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I visited the Eldorado Hotel Casino November 4th, 2012. to see the show "Jersey Nights". Very high energy and very entertaining. Show room was smoke free. Stadium seating...for best seats ask for the G or H rows and seats from 14 to 20... If you want to be part of the show they always select people in the F row and seats around the 12 to 16 area...will give you the best chance...

We ate in the Italian Restaurant (totally smoke free) on the "show package" and enjoyed a real nice meal. Our waiter was Tony and he was the best!!!!!

I am a non smoker and walkiing through the gaming area I could definately smell smoke...it sucked...
I was in a family party of 7 and we did not stay the night although I have stayed in the Eldorado before and the rooms were very nice.

For stage entertainment..and food...I have always enjoyed the El Dorado....and will return...Mike

Room Tip: All rooms are nice..clean and updated.

My husband and I have stayed in every major Hotel/Casino in Reno....and hands down the Eldorado is the best on many levels! The Rooms are large and comfortable. I will admit the decor is a bit dated and they are due for remodel. However the rooms are always sparkeling clean and well maintained. Nice quality linen and they have recently replaced the old TV's with lovely flat screens. The Extra Large Players Suites are our favorite, they are huge corner rooms, with lots of bright windows and large Jacuzzie for two and comfortable seating. The "21" series ie..2122 , 2123 2124, etc. feature a great walk in closet. They all have a very nice double vanity area and separate camode area with the shower + Coffee makers. The Housekeeping staff is supurb...just pick up the phone and they will bring you what ever you need to be more comfortable, from extra pillows/towels/bathrobes or extra coffee pouches or box of kleenex...Everyone from Front Desk to Security are very nice and hlepful. It is the perfect size hotel big enough to have all you need but small enough to get around and not have to WALK MILES..to restaurants or the casino. And the El Dorado Coffee co. is terriffic we bring the coffee home by the pounds.

Room Tip: The regular Player's Suites are very nice as well, they are a little smaller and have a "ve...

Bought a package deal which consisted of room for a night/show/two cocktails/breakfast buffet for $59.00. The room was very nice....big, roomy and comfy bed. The show was Jersey Nights---tribute to Frankie Valli. It was a 3+ out of 10. Bartender was friendly when we got the two drinks and the buffet is pretty general, but good selection of foods. For the price I would do this again. Only thing that I did catch in the room was a longer curly hair in the bath tub. Not a real biggie but it makes you wonder what you don't see. All in all.....great value package deal.

Arrived and got a great parking spot--good way to start. The young man who checked us in was delightful. Feel secure, the security personnel check your card every time you try to access the elevator to your room. Central Bar serves great drinks and the bartender was cheerful and sweet. The Jersey Nights performers were outstanding. Buffet staff were helpful and friendly; plus the food was delicious. Even the machines paid off. Good time.

Tried to sleep but the roar of the air conditioning system on the roof many floors below made sleeping impossible! Sleeping at a truck stop with the big rigs running would have been easier. Do not get a room facing Virginia street in the "new" tower. Room 1014 is awful for noise. Besides the noise, the room was small with very low ceilings. The design of the room made us wonder what "new" referred to--definitely dated! On the good side, the TV was new flat-screen and the room was clean. The resort fee paid for internet on the tv (?) but there was a fee to use your own laptop. Go figure.

We were very hopeful about our package deal from Social Living but buyer beware.

Room Tip: you would be better off with a street side room. There is not that much traffic downtown at night.

Overall for under$100(USD) you can't really ask for more. We stayed there for just one night on our way back from Yellowstone(going towards San Francisco).

Firstly it's a really good hotel with all the possible amenities one ould ask for.The room we took was with a king bed(they offered us a choice btw king bed and 2queens at the time of check in).

Check in was hassle free with no wait time at all. Very friendly staff. At the time of check-in we asked them about the view from our room and due to availabilty they offered us a choice between a view of the city OR mountains.Only the upper floors have a view for which they charge $10 more.If you opt for a lower floor you may not have any view except of a carpark/building.We opted for the city view as we were there for just a night(and obviously you can't see the mountains at night) We were on the 28th floor with a nice view of the city lit up and in the morning we could see the mountains in the distance as well.

The room was very nice with airconditioning, fresh and clean sheets, towels,a hair dryer, iron with ironing board,a mini bar and a fairly affordable 24hour room service menu. Wi-fi is available at an additional charge of $9 and once again NO complaints there either-decent speed.

The hotel is located on the main "strip" close to Circus Circus and seems to be a fairly safe area though we didnt venture out of our hotel really. But the hotel safety is good beacuse no one is allowed to enter the elevators to the rooms without showing the security personnel your room key.Infact they actually stopped a gentleman who claimed his friends were checked into a room on the 29th floor and they called the room number he gave them to inform them of a visitor and once they gave their permission only was he allowed in.Of course the staff was very courteous to the gentleman.

Also since we went on a working day they had a special offer where they gave us a few coupons of which we used the buy one buffet breakfast for $9(USD) and get one breakfast free. The other coupons were similarly for cocktails and drinks(Buy one get one free/complimentary) The breakfast at the restaurant called The Buffet was AMAZING!!! What a spread!!! With every imaginable meat,cereals/oats/muselli,fruits,salads,breads,eggs(any style, omelettes made to order),juices,coffees,desserts,cakes.cheesecakes,pastries-the works!!! A real steal for $9 and excellent food and service. SUPERB!!!!

Checkout was not needed for us as we had made the payment at the time of check-in so we just left the keys in the room and left!

Overall what more do you need from a hotel? Good rooms, lovely views, great staff, fabulous food, a casino, lots of restaraunts in the hotel, room service, shops...all this for under $100 room tariff!

So if you're thinking whether you should book this one or not,I'd say go ahead,GO FOR IT!

Room Tip: Ask the hotel for a room with a view(which are situated on the higher floors-15th and above) and try...

We received an offer in the mail for 2 free nights so why not??? Check-in was smooth and the agent at the front desk was helpful and friendly. We were given a non-smoking room on the 5th floor (525). We get to our room and open the door and it smells heavily of smoke. I open the curtains and look out the window and we are facing a wall and there is loud machinery humming away. We were also directly above a little patio area where El Dorado employees take their smoke breaks. Great view. We called the front desk and they say they will send housekeeping up with an ionizer to remove the smoke smell. We were just dropping off our bags and heading down to register for the slot tournament so the front desk told us to call when we get back and they will send the ionizer up then. We call when we get back and housekeeping comes up and says that we can't stay in the room, we have to leave. I called the desk and asked if we could change rooms. Nope...sorry sold out for the night. Mind you this is at 4 in the afternoon and you know not everyone has checked in yet. So...we were stuck. I asked them to come spray the room, which they did but it didn't really help all that much. We had a difficult night in this room and my son couldn't get to sleep until after 1 in the morning due to the loud noise from the machinery running. The next morning the front desk was able to switch us to a much nicer room on the 9th floor facing Virginia Street which was quieter and smoke-free.

The hotel lobby, restaurants, and lounge are great and beautiful however, the rooms are in need of some TLC. The furniture is scuffed up, chairs are stained, and in our second room there was a large chip off the bathtub.

Also, we have NEVER won anything in the casino here. We did participate in a slot tournament which was well organized and fun...would definitely do that again. Props to Linda Seidl, El Dorado Exec Director Games Marketing for a great event!

If you stay here, do not accept anything lower than the 8th or 9th floor or you will hear equipment running all night. Also do not accept a room ending in 25 or you will be facing a wall.

We do like the El Dorado but unfortunately this was not our best stay.

Room Tip: Stay on floor 8 or higher to avoid machinery noise on roof. Do not accept a room ending in 25 or yo...
