If you have a rental car and have an afternoon to kill while in Las Vegas : do it! Its like going to Mars. The drive from Las Vegas is very easy and takes about 1h from the strip . The price of entry to the park is 10$/car and is well worth it. Its very pretty so bring your camera. Also, bring water! The day we went it was +-110 degrees. So don't skimp and bring at least 2-3 bottles of water per person. One thing of note. Take the small map they give you when you pay. One of the first turnoffs off note from the main road is really close (easy to miss since its a dirt road) and its probably the best one! Its where the famous "arch" is. So when you get your map, take a few moments to look at it.
