Once a year we go to Tahoe and once a year we drive over the hill to Cafe Girasole. The menu is small for lunch- maybe 15 entrees- but everything is wonderful. All the food here is made from scratch. This time my husband had the chicken tortilla soup and and I had the tomato bisgue with sherry. Wonderful- you wanted to lick the bowl clean. One of the panninis we ordered had thinly sliced turkey, with sauteed chipolini onions, greens, tomato and their house salad with marrion berry dressing- To die for. If this were closer to the bay area we would probably be here weekly. The food is worth the drive and not to be missed if you are going to Tahoe. IT is located on Highway 395 and only takes cash.
