“Only place in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Good place to grab a burger in town if you don't want to visit McDonalds. Normal prices cooked as you order.

“OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

It was OK. I only had a pastry. It wasn't that good and I threw half of it away. I really can't offer a full review. What others were eating looked like good square meals...It did seem a little pricey for what you get. The ambiance was nice. When I first got into town, I asked a local where to eat and they sent me to the Shell gas station at the end of the road. I had a few tacos, but that is a real grease pit. If you're looking for fried food, that's the place to go. Personally, one meal at Shell was enough...but to each his own!

“Cute place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

One of our more pleasant surprises was the Cowpoke Cafe. The food was quite delicious considering they're only 3 restaurants in town that were rated. We ate another restaurant in lovelock about your two years ago and it was a very unpleasant experience. It had interesting decorations on the windows in on the walls. My wife thought the egg salad and the french fries were among the best she's had in recent times.

“Good choice in Lovelock (almost only choice)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

A local favorite and I stop in each time I visit Lovelock for business. Small town atmosphere with cowboys, locals, rancher, farmers and passer throughs. Good selection of home cooked favorites and specials. Good burgers and sandwich specials. If you are passing through Lovelock you should stop and relax for a while it's the best alternative to McDonalds on the highway.

“Friendly Folks for your Cow Pokes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Passing this way and saw a review for CowPoke Cafe. Being tired of McDonald's and their likes decided to give this local place a try. AS reviewed by others the thing to do is march right up to the order counter and place your order. The Cashier will answer your questions and the cooks may come up to discuss your order with you also if you like. Right next to the counter you will see an assortment of home style baked goods. I opted to buy all in our party a cookie of their choice after lunch. Our group mainly at burgers of different sorts and toppings. Buffalo burger was very lean and tasty. Regular burgers were also good, mostly like you would cook for yourself at home. All the toppings are available and food is brought to your table (just order at the front counter). Locals and tourists alike were there the day we visited and everyone seemed in a good mood as they were well cared for by the staff. Cookies were good after the meal, also so should note that they have a peach iced tea that was favored by all in our party of 5. Check it out, better than McDonalds by far.
