My two favorite vacation destinations are Reno and Mexico, but as of this weekend I've added a third, Harrah's Laughlin. My room was in perfect condition and was quiet and comfortable. Housekeeping had my room immacuately clean by 10 am. I had the buffet once and it was very good with a variety to please everyone. I especially liked the Blue Baja. I ordered the Nacho Gigante one afternoon and had to go back the next day for one more. A young couple singing Mariachi added a great deal to the atmosphere.

Having two casinos, one non-smoking, is a bonus. The beverages were generous while I gambled and enjoyed myself. The pool and beach areas are exceptional, especially the adults only pool. May the Good Lord bless all the little rug rats, but let them play Marco Polo about a quarter of a mile from my beach chair.

It was a pleasure talking to every Harrah's staff that I encountered. I had a great time and look forward to returning.

Have just returned from a weeks stay at Harrah's Laughlin and my first trip to Laughlin. I knew nothing about the hotel until after I had booked and if I knew then what I do now, I would not have stayed there. Don't get me wrong, Harrahs is the best in Laughlin. My 3rd tower room overlooked the river with a view of "the strip". The room was well appointed and clean. The adult pool was brilliant because I did not have to put up with screaming kids! There were a few disappointing aspects:
1/ location. Without a car, $10 return trip on the water taxi is a rip off. Was a little far to walk and during the heat of the day, forget it. if you don't have a car at your dispoasl, stay more central
2/ Buffet the best in Laughlin? The rest must be pretty average. I ate there a few times at different times. Each time the food appeared to have been sitting out for quite some time and some portions were cold. Very disappointing. However, the staff were fantastic.
3/ Internet access. I travelled from Australia and do not have a lap top. The in room info promotes a cordless keyboard but the front desk stated that there was no internet access unless I had my own laptop and paid the connection fees to my dial up provider. I was then advised to go to the Flamingo and use their "business centre".
4/ Slots were TIGHT. Go and play the slots at the Colorado Belle. The slots at Harrahs were miserable to me!

Harrah's was great, but if I were to go back to Laughlin, would stay at either the Flamingo or Golden Nugget.

When we arrived our room was NOT available and this is normally not a problem in a Harrahs casino however on this occasion just after we started to wait ( I was in the washroom) my wife and adult daughter sat down at a slot machine outside the washroom entrance. Almost immediately a cleaner walked up to our medically disadvantaged adult daughter (she is 25) and out of the blue verbally attacked my daughter saying, "you can't be here" and would not listen to any explanation at all. My wife offered to show her (my daughters ) I.D. and her response was a negative one. Finally, when a little of what my wife was saying seemed to be understood the cleaner turned and walked away saying, "she don't believe it" and "whatever" It was more her attitude and tone of voice that was offensive to my wife but this employee damaged our daughters self-esteem as well. We immediately went to security and talked with security and he verified her credentials. We mentioned what happened and he asked if we could identify the cleaner. We looked for two days and never did see her again. We still want this person found because she needs some sensitivity training when dealing with a mentally disadvantaged adult.

The result of this attack is my daughter self esteem took a beating and her head remained hung low for the last five days of the trip. One of us and most times both of us guarded our daughter while in public areas. Other Harrahs employees inquired (as is there right to check) about her age and accepted her security bracelet or I.D. without question.

Secondly, when we went to get our room keys the hotel receptionist failed to give us the charge card part of our bill. I looked for an hour in the room and when I went to report it missing to the front desk (to the same clerk) she first said, "I always give them to the guest" She made me a new copy then went to her garbage can and pulled out about ten of these slips. This is scary as anyone could have make charges to our room. (or to any of the other guests cards that were in the garbage)

Next our truck was parked for security reasons with valet. We have a disabled sticker and want to feel secure when we leave the vehicle. (In Harrahs, Las Vegas, they told us they can't be responsible for our truck and we self parked it) Nothing was mentioned at your casino.

Our problem, the next day when we were walking, we walked past the truck and found it left unlocked and NOT in a secure valet area. The vehicle was parked next to a walkway so anyone could have entered it without being noticed. After talking with valet they locked the vehicle. When the vehicle was returned to us the driver side door, window, and outside mirrors were all coated with an unknown substance that did NOT dissolve in water. The windows and mirror smeared making them unable to see through. We stopped while leaving Laughlin at a service station and bought an industrial cleaner which allowed us to continue our journey safely.

Back to "check in" we had arranged (initialed or signed) for our hotel charges to be reduced by any points earned. Since we live in Alberta, Canada and can't always return within six (6) months; the hotels' Total Rewards personnel suggested this method to benefit from gaming within your hotel chain. Well in a nut shell I get home and find first all my points are still on my Platinum card while the full hotel charges are on Visa. This is the only chain that has a six month limit before all points are forfeited.

Minor irritations:

Three adults were booked into this room and the beds were two size super single at best.
In the bathroom we again endured no water stopper in the bathroom sink. (this seems normal in this hotel chain) we leave a note with the maid but they never get fixed. Hopefully it's fixed for the next guest.

Finally, the hotel chain is hyping how well they are treating the Diamond and Platinum cardholders. We were offered and accepted 2 for 1 tickets to the Rhinewstone Cowgirl show. What we found is anyone gets this treatment without any affiliation to the Total Rewards program. People walk up to book, they ask, and get this special!

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Harrahs Laughlin, the accommodation was in the adult tower overlooking the river in a corner room our maid was superb and could not do enough for us and was so pleasant( Ramona K.).The buffet was out of this world and we did try others but they very inferior and as people say "you get what you pay for "
The check in desk was manned by some very helpful "female" staff and as usual the cocktail waitresses were also very pleasant, and never failed to show when a drink was needed, we feel as usual that Harrah's is the "creme de la creme" of Laughlin. Roll on our next vacation which will be another return visit.

I have been advised to never read reviews after you have booked, but that's what I did. And I was more than a little concerned with some of the things I read especially the distance from the rest of the strip. However we drove from Vegas to Laughlin on 12th April (stayed in the Plaza the night before and were in the casino when the guy won $1.2 million on the progressive Wheel of Fortune). Got to the hotel early, and was efficiently looked after by Donna, who managed to give me a non-smoking room with a view and a fridge in the north tower. The room was spacious and airy.
The Box Office staff (Cecilia in particular) was very helpful and got me 2 tickets to the Jeff Foxworthy show, which was "sold out". The non-smoking casino is quite small, and I hope that this will change as people become more aware; also pleased to see that casino management kept the Let It Ride tables to $5.00. Lots of room in the casino (machines are not jammed in together) but more variety would be good. Saw many other kinds in other casinos. Cocktail waitresses were plentiful and the drinks were not watered down - that in itself was great! Dealers were friendly and very helpful and patient with beginners. I enjoyed the Hold Em tournament at 9:00 am. Ate at Casa Cabo, Fresh Market Buffet and The Range. Buffet was spectacular, do not miss this. Range is expensive, the service was impeccable. Have a problem with the amount of food on our plate - way too much for us. While it is true the hotel is out of the way, we had a car, also, there is a shuttle, there is a water taxi (gone up to $10 round trip - this is too much) and it is a nice walk when the weather is cooler. It would definitely be good for Harrah's business if they extended the boardwalk, or made a walkway over the hill between them and River Palms. Lots of people get put off by the hill as there is only a goatpath, and it is not lighted at night. Also the shuttle should be advertised so that downtown hotel/casino realize that they can get up to Harrahs and back (more business). All in all, we liked the property a lot and would recommend it to everyone. Harrahs employees are deserving of the title Most Friendly Hotel/Casino! Hats off to them.
