“Not bad but needs cleaning up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

We stayed for 3 nites over Super Bowl weekend on our way back from PHX. I booked last minute and glad I didn't pay anymore than I did. The hotel is very dated. Staff is great; very friendly & helpful. We have stayed in Laughlin many times and always @ Harrah's and River Palm's is right next door. We did have a drink at the bar in The Lodge restaurant and the bartender was great. If u want a cheap stay, this is a good bet.

Large, clean rooms reasonable rates. Resort is right on the Colorado River you can walk out the resort and stroll along the river walk. The river walk leads you to the other casinos and restaurants.
The Palms employees where helpful and pleasant.

Room Tip: Book during the week rates more reasonable.

We have been there several times just playing slots but had so much trouble at Harrahs last time we were there we decided to give River Palms a try. We had an absolute blast there. The check in was a breeze and the lady was soooo nice. The room was clean and smelled great. The elevators are fast. the room was very quiet and comfortable. The bed was a little softer then I'm use to but my wife loved it. The slots were fairly loose and played a long time on little money. They also had a 1.99 buffet for seniors that ranks right up there with the best we've had. The service was very friendly and fast. We like leaving our car in the parking garage and fell very SAFE doing so. Thanks for such a GREAT time and we will DEFINITELY be back!!!!!

Room Tip: We had 17th floor away from the elevator which was quiet

River Palms is pet-friendly with a designated floor in this very large casino hotel. The room was clean and the beds comfy, but the room showed a lot of wear - nicked woodwork, holes in the wall where a painting once hung. One of the lamps was missing a light bulb which they replaced promptly. A very good rating due to the amazing room rate Thanksgiving week. Outdoor pool was heated and a great jacuzzi. Denny's on-site and the buffet was average.

Room Tip: Ask for a Colorado River view room.

River Palms is a typical casino/hotel combination. The room is pretty basic. I had a river view room but that's being kind. The window was so dirty you couldn't really see much clearly and forget about night time - the combination of that grime with the floodlights on the hotel make seeing anything impossible.

Wireless costs $10 for 24 hours and is FAR from high speed. Overpriced, but that's to be expected at a casino/hotel combo. It's rare to find one that doesn't charge.

The hotel does look like it needs a refresh. Plenty of peeling paint and empty areas throughout. There is a 24 hour Denny's in the lower level. Other than that, food options are pretty scarce.

We chose this hotel due to being dog friendly, the location is as good as any on the river with access to the relaxing river walk. Like many hotels, there is a lot of walking around from pool to parking garage to rooms, and pretty decent selection of slots/games. November is off season so it was pleasant to not be jammed in with people gambling/eating, the Denny's is 24 hours & at 3:30am they made and excellent to go meal. Their staff and all at the hotel were friendly, efficient, and professional. No line at check in or check out.
We booked a mountain view room to budget & it was dated, a little smelly but the sheets were dirty with hair and the desk was covered in grease & handprints. Ew. I called the front desk to advise & they immediately put us in a new room, this time river view (without asking or complaining) and it was great for the money! Updated, newer paint/pictures, the bed and pillows were so comfortable, the bathroom very clean and the water pressure was outstanding! They only have about 15-17 channels on the TV. It was fairly quick & easy to take our dog out got for relief via the river walk way exit. We have stayed at the Aquarius before with a similar experience but liked River Palms location better. Laughlin is a little older and the hotels and architecture reflect that.

Room Tip: Asked for an updated room, some of may be outdated.

The one thing going for the hotel is the price. However if you are a gambler it really only has slots and not a lot of them. Craps, roulette are mostly weekend. there a a few blackjack tables. If you are into buffets there is only dinner, except on the weekends, and if you want to stay in your room and watch TV there are only a few channels. There is also no entertainment in the hotel. Well, I guess there is a second good thing, it is not that far to walk or drive to a hotel with the amenities you want.
Book here only if price matters.
