Not sure if it was worth the $70 a ticket, but it was a nice departure from the norm! I guess we could have gambled that $140 away, but in probably less time than the 5-6 hours the tour took!
The driver was friendly & the ride was enjoyable. It wasn't too hot on the day we went, maybe the mid to high 90's? The boat was covered by open on the sides as well as a front window open, allowing for air movement though the "cabin". On the trip back from Havasu, misters came on every so often to cool down the natives, which really weren't all that restless!
Havasu was a little disappointing. Although the World Jet Skit Championships were in town, you wouldn't have known, as the town was still asleep. The little English village tourist trap was a ghost town with everything but a rental shop vacant. Anyways, that's not the fault of the boat operators.
Back to the boat. The driver said he'd circle back if we had a chance to view wildlife, he wasn't kidding! When big horn sheep were seen, he made sure he got to the best viewing area & turned the boat so riders on both sides had photo opportunities. He also did this for additional photo ops of historical importance such as Route 66 & ancient petroglyphs (probably left by a boater circa 1985!).
All in all, a nice trip, wish it was a little cheaper...but when you fill up a boat on every tour, why would you make it cheaper? it's the American way! If you haven't seen the River from Laughlin to Havasu on the water, I'd recommend the ride! Just make sure you bring a drink & hit the restroom on your way to the boat, as the boat is just a boat, not a luxury liner!
