We just returned from a week at the Aquarius Hotel-Casino in Laughlin, NV. I must admit that the hotel is probably the best in the city. Check-in was at 3:00 PM and that was when we arrived. Our reservation was processed very quickly and our room was ready when we were finished at the front desk. We had a basic room in the California Tower on the 11th floor. We overlooked the front of the casino. We were asked if we wanted to up-grade but we would do so only if it were gratis. No up-grade.
We had a double unit which was quite large with two queen beds and two chairs at a table. The only negative about the main room was the lighting was not very bright. They had a 32" flat screen tv, with about 35 channels available which is a lot for a casino property. There was no fridge or microwave but we expected as much. You could get one for about $10/day but that is not worth it.
The bathroom had a granite top counter for the sink. The tub was fine and the water pressure was the same but the water was not loaded with softener, so you could actually dry off after showering. The only negative about the bathroom was the proximity of the commode to the wall. The quarters there were a little tight, especially if you are a large person.
The casino was fine with various table games and lots of slots and vp. The pay scales on the vp were not great but they did have a lot of 5 cent machines on the floor. There was a keno lounge and sports and race book.
There were several bars available and the cocktail waitresses were always around. I think that I heard "cocktails" in my sleep they were by so often. There was a food court with McDonald's, Subway, Dreyer's ice cream and a Starbucks. There was also a Panda Express in the building. There was a coffee shop with decent food, an Outback Steakhouse and a buffet. The buffet was nothing outstanding but more than sufficient. They also include beer, wine and margaritas at dinner time. There was enough seasoned food and plain food for different types of eaters. They also had a baked potato bar.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Aquarius and look forward to returning in the future.
