“Cheap, clean, and convenient!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

Great hotel if you want to get away and stay somewhere cheap, clean and convenient. Cheap as in cheaper than the new hotels right on the strip. It might not be hippest hotel around, but it's definitely a great place to sleep at while in Vegas. Plus, it's not like you'll be at the hotel much anyways! Everyone who works here is nice and the rooms were kept clean and tidy everyday. Don't forget to have a bloody mary at the bar by Tower II. :)

It's a pretty good place for the price. walkable to most places on the strip.
The casino itself is pretty old, but if all you want out of a room in Las vegas is a place to crash after gambling and partying, it's a good deal.

Excalibur is approaching its 25th year so compared to most of the other Strip Casinos it is a little shopworn and very dated. The location is good, but a little more South than you would like. Found the room, including the bathroom quite large. Furniture and room accoutrements were quite mediocre. Loved Bucca de Beppo because they have Happy Hour all day at the bar. Disappointed that the majority of the pool area was closed, including the bar, due to it being "off-season". Customer service was excellent. Overall our stay was satisfactory because we got an outstanding rate.

Dear Sacco V,

Thank you for your detailed account. Buca di Beppo is a perfect place for a traditional Italian meal in an atmosphere full of lively music, laughter and lots of fun; it is great to hear that you enjoyed your time there. Additionally, our staff works hard to provide an outstanding level of service and we appreciate your kind recognition. Our Pool hours and availability vary according to the season and we sincerely hope you can return in the warmer months for some fun in the sun!

Sincerely,

Excalibur's price and location are great. Rooms are rather dark and stark, but meet basic travelling needs. Bathrooms are large and showers spacious. Conveniently located right outside is a bus station that services several bus lines that will cheaply take you up and down the strip as well as to and from the airport. Located within the casino are several restaurants including a buffet and a food court (McDonalds, Cinnabon, etc...).

Three (sort-of) complaints:
#1. No microfridge in the rooms, so be prepared to eat out every meal (which probably isn't a problem for many people- I just like to have food in the room or the option of keeping leftovers).

#2. You WILL smell like cigarette smoke. Not from the rooms. But as soon as you walk through the casino. The casino tries to mask it with a perfumey fragrance, but it permeates everything. However, this is the case in all of Vegas, not just Excalibur. Just be prepared, if this is something that bothers you.

#3 (AND THIS IS THE BIG ONE): You will be harrassed, every single time you enter or leave your room and walk through the casino, by seeming professionals offering you "good deals", "free tickets", "free gifts", etc... sucking you in by asking you harmless and friendly questions or pretending to be hotel staff directing you to your room. Once you answer them or show the slightest hesitation, they commence to sucker you into their timeshare presentations. One woman went as far as intercepting my husband and I when we walked into the hotel check-in area and telling us that check-ins didn't start yet for 45 minutes. She showed us where the luggage hold was and then directed us to her associate, who commenced wheedling us into accepting free show tickets bla bla bla if we would listen to his offer. We promptly said no and walked to the check-in desk, where we were told that we weren't even early for check-ins . So be careful. As long as you can confidently shut down the vultures and keep walking, this hotel is great if you are trying to see Las Vegas affordably. We chose to lodge simply and cheaply, so that we could spend more money doing and seeing the things we wanted to during our stay.

I was little worried because i had heard some terrible things and read some bad reviews but this hotel is awesome.
The room was great & the staff were amazing - so nice and helpul - and the location was perfect. Not to mention the fact that its a castle!! & looks amazing from the outside especially at night.

The food court was great - it is only fast food but it meant we could get a burger at 4am after a night on the strip!

We had a tower room w/ 2 queen beds in tower 1 on the 5th floor and it was perfect for us - there wasnt a bath but we didn't want one. Fyi Im 5"10 & found the shower was only just tall enough for me and it was fixed so just be warned if your much taller that this might be a problem. The only real fault is no wifi in the rooms - there is a cable so your fine if you have a laptop but we only had tablets and phones.

We had a great time & this hotel was awesome.
(The frozen margaritas at the Lobby Bar are really good)
We will definitely going back!
& I definitely recommend it.

Everything about our stay was great except the room and bed. The bed was so so as far as comfort but the blanket situation was unsat. We requested more blankets and received them. BUT, the way the bed was made it was impossible to completely cover up.

well lets start by saying this is not our first visit to vegas but our first to the Excalibur, and I would return.
at check in Angel was lovely and arranged our upgrade to a suite from our upgraded room in tower 2,we got a lovely room nice and quiet, lovely living area and massive tub(maybe we got lucky) had 9 great but short sleeps(because in vegas you don't go to sleep much).
food court was handy and tried the breakfast buffet for free twice it was adequate.
only negative of the visit was the steakhouse which was a big let down( very low grade service and food---stay away)
big plus were the staff and in particular the staff in the poker room, the dealers were all great( except one older blond lady who made a number of small mistakes---complained and didn't see her for the rest of the trip) This poker room is one of the best and it helps when your winning.
lots of salespeople which can be annoying but a pleasant no thank you from me and they didn't chase.
Slots were very loose and led to a successful week for the wife and I
didn't see any shows in the hotel but saw rock of ages and Michael Jackson one and they were very good.
All in all great value for money and planning our next trip later this year already

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade and smile
