“Non-smoker's stay away”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

My travel mate booked us into this hotel because of the very cheap rate. When I entered my room I discovered why. While it was designated a non-smoking room it had clearly been used as a smoking room for a long time. The floors had a number of cigarette burn marks and a large stain from a gob of chewing gum and other stains. They were also very dirty. The walls were discoloured by smoke and nictotine. There was a patch on one wall where a picture had been removed. Underneath the wall was grey-blue but the rest of the room was a brown tinged yellow. The furniture was also chipped. When I requested a move to a real non-smoking room I was told that the hotel was full and to come back after 12. I had the feeling my complaint was common. My other friend was also allocated a room that was already occupied. Luckily for him, another room was found. If you want a cheap room find somewhere off the strip or just pay for a decent hotel. And yes, it did smell of tobacco smoke.

The hotel is located in the begining of the main strip next to New York hotel and the Luxor hotel.
Overall the hotel is good, clean and very comfortable. The room are nice and big even the standard.
The only con is that we got a room that had a door that you share with the room next to you and we could hear everything, after one night we ask to change the room, the staff was very understanding and they gave us a diffrent and more insulated room.
So I can honestly say it was a good hotel to stay in, the staff was great and the casino was fun!

Room Tip: Ask a room that dosn't have a sharing door with room next to you.

We stayed at the Excalibur Hotel from12 September 2012 for 3 weeks. We had a room in Tower I which we found adequate. We had 2 queen beds which were wonderful and extremely comfortable as they had the new very thick pillow top mattresses - we also had a 42 inch flat screen TV. The only disappointment was the decor and the bathroom could use an update - although the large walkin shower was very adequate. The pool area was great with plenty of loungers but the downside was no shade - if you wanted 2 loungers with a brolly it would set u back $40 per day. - It is also under the flight path of all the helicopters going too and from the Grand Canyon which were very noisy hence they had the pool music volume up extremely high to try to cover the noise! The rest of the hotel is quite dingy and in need of some updating - however towards the end of our stay quite a few of the areas in the casino were cordoned off and blocked out with signs saying they were updating the hotel - it will be interesting to read reviews from next season to see if much has changed for the better! - Having said all of this we had a fabulous 3 weeks in Vegas and seeing the new City Centre was awe inspiring!!

My husband and I stayed at the Excalibur for 2 nights and had a great time. The staff at check in were very good and was upgraded to queens room in tower 2 with no extra charge. The room was spacious, comfortable and kept very clean overlooking the pool area. We did not have time to spend time in the pool but by what we could see it looked very nice. The location of the Excalibur is good and all in all value for money. We would definatly stay at Excalibur again.

Room Tip: We would reccomend staying in Tower 2

Stayed 5 nights here. Rooms were fine. Bed a little noisy when getting in and out...not super comfy...but not worst. A frig would have been nice. Decent restaurants on site. Everywhere, not just this hotel, are solicitors for show packages...really annoying. We visited a lot parks and excalibur was right off freeway which was great.
