“Better than expected”

Stayed at the Excalibur from Apr 29-May 4 and didn't have any major complaints about it. I was slightly hesistant to book after reading some of the reviews but decided to judge it for myself. We upgraded to a newly remodeled room for $15/night extra and it was worth it. We got a room on the 18th floor of Tower 2 and there is not one negative thing I can say about the room. Everything was clean and comfortable. Now yes, the casino at the Excalibur was smoke heavy but alot of casinos in Vegas are that way. Plus when you go to Vegas you never stay in one casino anyway. I definitely would recommend this hotel for the price as long as you get a updated room.

“Never Again!!!!!!!!!!!”

My family and I spent a week at the Excalibur and will never stay there again. We paid $10 extra per room to get a view of the strip and all we could see was the airport. When we finally got to our rooms, they smelled very musty and there was hair in the shower (no bathtubs) and we also found hair in both of the beds. We called housekeeping and the supervisor came into the room and said that the sheets sometimes have hair stuck to them. I asked her if she would sleep in beds with someone elses hair in them. They moved us to a new set of rooms (we had 2 for our family) and there was also hair in those beds. My daughter called our travel agent back in Texas to see if we could be moved to another hotel but it would have cost us each approximately $400 per family to move and that was not feasible. We then demanded to talk to someone higher up and got the Assistant Manager of the hotel. Everything was going smoothly until she told me that she was afraid to put us in another room because we would probably find something wrong with that room too, she would just rather try and fix the problem. After all was said and done, we were moved to the "newly remodeled" rooms that faced the pool area. There was still some hair in the bathroom but by that time (we had been going through this for about 3 1/2 hours) I just got a washrag and washed the hair down the sink. I will never stay at the Excalibur again and that is what I told the Assistant Manager even after she moved us to the new room. I would rather pay a few extra dollars and sleep with only my hair in my bed.

“Do Not Stay Here Your Stuff Will Be Stolen By The Maid!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2007

It does not matter that you put the do not disturb sign on your door, the maid just barges in like she owns the place. When you leave your room and make sure the door is locked with the "do not disturb" placard haning on the outside door, the maid will enter and clean your room out including your personal possessions. What does the the Excaliber Staff do about it? NOTHING!!!!! You are just S.O.L. They do not care that your stuff is gone and your vacation ruined, just so long as you pay your bill, oh yes you are fully charged for suppling the made her new wardrobe!!!!! BY the way we did report the theft to the motel staff and they took a report and did say sorry. That is hard to chew on.

“better than we expected”

we booked our holiday last minute thru teletext, and it was cheaper than a week in majorca! we'd been to vegas before so had no worries about staying in excalibur,However, on our arrival we were struggling with our suitcases thru the hotel, heading towards check in,a lady asked if there were just the 2 of us and directed us to what we believed to be a fast check in desk.At the desk we were offered show tickets,I politely asked the girl if she was selling time share ,she completely ignored me and asked my husband the same question. so i asked again if she was selling timeshare, she said yes, so i asked her"if you had been awake for 20 hrs, spent 10 hrs on a cramped flight and 2hrs in immigration would you want to buy a bloody timeshare?"!!!!!!
on the good side, check in was very swift, we asked for an upgrade, which we were willing to pay for ,the guy on check in told us he had given us a great room and to check it out before we payed for an upgrade.our room overlooked the pool and was lovely,we would stay here again, after all how much time do you spend in any 1 hotel in vegas? we had a great holiday,. downside is timeshare, they are everywhere ,and are even more annoying than the sleazy little card flickers who are all over the strip!!!!!!!!!! ps. check out bills gambling hall, next to bally's, really small but good old vegas atmosphere......
