We stayed at the Mirage in September, and found the best price through booking with Thomas Cook which was a suprise. We flew with American.

The room was of a good size, bed massive, 2 wardrobes, the bathroom was huge and had seperate bath and shower which was nice. We had a great view of the volcano and strip.

The hotel itself was also a good size, in that it wasnt too big, after walking through the MGM I was glad we werent staying there! The pool was nice (although water pretty cold!) and we found if you got down there just as they opened it or shortly afterwards it was easy to find a sunbed.

It was also in a great location on the strip, which is important for all the walking up and down you do. I would definitely stay here again.

The only bad side is I did find it had one of the smokier casinos, by the end of the week my eyes would start watering just walking through it and I started getting a sore throat, so we prefered to gamble in other hotels.

Our first trip to vegas and arrived at the mirage at 4pm and found myself struggling to open a heavy door with a suitcase and found it rather strange to not have an automatic door. Then proceeded to a very quick check in. Was not offered a free upgrade, although was offered a penthouse for $60 a night which we declined. We then walked the long walk to the elevators right through the casino, which I guess is standard with every hotel in vegas to do this. Was given a very nice king deluxe room overlooking part of the strip and the pool. The room was very spacious and the bed was amazing. Yes the bathroom could of been bigger but was very modern and clean. House keeping could not be faulted.
We ate in Cravings buffet a few mornings and were happy with the choices although felt we had to keep asking the waitress for tea, orange juice etc. Beware that the price goes up about $10 at the weekend. We also ate in california pizza kitchen which was lovely and the BLT burger which was just ok and nothing special for the price.
Not to be missed is the Love, Cirque de soleil, which was amazing and worth every penny and would pay again and again to see it.
We generally went to the pool around 3pm and had no problem at all getting seats and was generally quiet. was nice to sit at the Dolphin bar beside the pool, but beware of the very high price of the drinks here.
Visited most of the hotels on the strip and would recommend visiting the ferrari collection at the wynn, Watching the Bellagio fountains from the Eiffel Tower at night and the volcano at The mirage. The monrail system is a godsend and runs very late although again a bit pricey.
We were very happy with The Mirage on the whole, the location is excellent, how ever i think some of the other hotels like MGM and New York New york offer better facilities, although we cannot comment on the rooms there.

Recently stayed at the Mirage in a Deluxe Room, my first time there. I usually stay at the Venetian, but the price was too good to pass up. Recently updated rooms, sleek, earth tones colors, 50 + inch flat screen tv, wonderfully plush beds, big bathroom, with great soaps & shampoos....you can't this up! Business travelers will be happy as well. Excellent location as well, right in the middle of the strip. A short walk or cab to wherever you want to go. 2 Thumbs up!!!

I stayed at the Mirage for 7 nights with 3 other people in late October. We mainly booked this hotel due to its great location and we were not disappointed as it’s in a prime location! Upon arriving within around 10 minutes we were checked in and on our way to the rooms. The only minor hiccup we had was the fact that when we booked we requested 2 rooms, each with 1 king-sized bed however, these were still being cleaned so we were given 2 rooms each with 2 queen sized beds, we didn't believe this to be an issue though. Each of the rooms was clean and spacious & housekeeping came everyday and changed our towels and linen etc. Regarding the bathroom it was somewhat small however it was more than adequate. The view from our rooms was of the back of the hotel and looked out onto roads mainly but I didn't plan on sitting by the window anyway we were in Vegas after all! We found all the staff within the hotel to be very helpful, for instance one day we had a problem with one of our lamps and 5 minutes after informing reception someone was there fixing it.

The facilities within the hotel were very good such as the shops, bars and restaurants which we ate at most nights. Some people have stated the restaurants are expensive but personally I didn’t believe this to be the case for the ones I experienced – BLT Burger, Carnegie Deli, California Pizza Kitchen & Samba Brazilian Steakhouse. In British Pounds most meals worked out at around £15-20 including a drink which I think is pretty cheap. The only issue you may find when eating in the mirage is you pretty much have to queue for everything & this can take 20m+ which I’d never experienced before but this seemed the norm on the strip. The bars in the mirage were also good such as the Rhumbar & Revolution lounge both of which had a good atmosphere however, take plenty of $$$ if like me you don’t drink beer as you’ll be paying around $12-16 for a drink. While staying at the mirage we also went swimming and the pool was as good as it looks in the pictures definitely great for Vegas. We also visited the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, which I must say was a let down as upon entering we were then told the Dolphins were having a rest day so we didn’t get to see much. Overall The Mirage may lack in over the top décor like some of the closer hotels however, it was a great place to stay in and we enjoyed it. The volcano was really good to see on a night and certainly different. I cannot really comment on the casino as I’m not really a gambler (lol) it always seemed busy though and the slots were certainly fun. As I’m sure you’ll know by now you need to walk through the casino to get to the rooms which I must admit became somewhat tiring towards the end of our stay but again from the other hotels I visited this was the norm. If I return to Vegas I would consider staying at the mirage again however I understand they’ve now introduced a resort fee so to be honest I’d more than likely upgrade and stay across the road at The Venetian or Wynn.

A few tips:
~Try see one of the Cirque du Soleil shows – we saw KA & it was fantastic
~Bally's (hotel) Jubilee show is also fantastic... true Vegas Glamour
~Also the trips to the Grand Canyon are amazing but shop around for a good deal.
~Also DO NOT underestimate how big the strip is! I’m in my early twenties and the walking really took its toll on me and my feet! Try the shuttle buses or something as taxis are often at a stand still.

If you are searching Trip Advisor to find a good hotel choice on the strip then please read on.

I have stayed at the majority of the major Casino Hotels on the Strip and I find the Mirage to be the hotel of choice. Great service from all employees and the front desk acts like you are a welcome guest. Rooms are fine, try the Tower Suite if the rates allow - huge and fun to stay in. Good bars and places to eat - California Pizza Kitchen embedded in the Sports Book, if fun to eat and watch the giant screens, Cravings buffet food is really good for a buffet, and if you need a quiet bar with great drinks try the Rhumbar. I ate at the Carnegie Deli and the wait for food was very long due to many more customers than wait staff and cooks. Perhaps they could seat fewer people to be able to handle the customers better. Carndgie Deli was the only downside for the week and the postives at the Mirage outweigh that negative expierence.

If you like to watch sports the Mirage has the best sports book in Las Vegas hand''s down.

The pool is great and has longer hours than most casino hotels.

If you choose to stay somewhere ther than the Mirage please do yourself a huge favor and do not stay at the Flamingo - it is the worst across the board.

Have fun and safe travels!
