“love this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

i only got to stay one night at the mirage on this trip as i spend most of my week downtown rather than being on the strip. i had never stayed here before and had not been on the strip for several years so thought this would be a bit of a treat for my mother and i to go back to where it all began so many years ago. anyway i was pleasantly surprised as to how nice and clean and well decorated the rooms all were. the experience was quite lovely. we did have one thing in mind wanted to get back to the strip to see the free shows on the strip including the lava eruption in front of the mirage. unfortunately we were here the time it was shut down for repairs and did not get to see it. so as we were a bit disappointed by that still had such a lovely room and a really good time.

Room Tip: no tips the average room was really nice

Stayed 5 nights in the Mirage mid March and was impressed by this hotel. It's not personal but then again it's a huge 400+ room resort and check in/out staff were friendly and efficient. We only had a basic room, but it suited us fine.

Pools had just opened so the water was a bit chilly, but the layout is nice (actually prefer it to the Mandalay beach). Didn't pay the extra daily to go into the BARE adults only beach club, but the regular areas were just fine for us. Not a big gambler, but enjoyed the Blackjack & roulette on the casino floor, mainly friendly croupiers.

Buffet breakfast in cravings was pretty good at $17 and if you have any more than a Latte ($6) and a muffin ($4) from the roasted bean coffee shop to take back to your room, you may as well go for the buffet option. You will pig out at the buffet though, so many pastries/doughnuts to choose from once you've scoffed your first plate full of fried breakfast!

We got tickets to the Terry Fator show as it was one of the Mirage's highlight acts, but it's best suited to children under about 12, or OAP's 65+, so not for me. He's a talented guy, but you see the jokes coming a mile off and there is a depressing mid part with a song/talk about kids with cancer? Enjoyed about 10 mins of the whole show (when he gets an audience member involved), the rest is too cheesey.

Hotel is pretty central on the strip, so good for venturing one way one evening, then heading the opposite way the next night. $8 for 24Hrs on the Deuce local bus is good value for getting around the strip to save your feet, but frequent stops mean that it can take a while.

Probably won't stay here again as we like to try out different hotels, but would definitely recommend as a decent mid range strip hotel

I’m so glad we impressed you! Even though you like to try out different hotels, I would appreciate the opportunity to let us impress you even further on your next trip. I’m sorry to hear that you did not enjoy Terry Fator. Have you seen Cirque Du Soliel’s LOVE, or have you checked out our Aces of Comedy lineup? We have also recently added the legendary Boyz II Men as a resident show, they're amazing! You can email me at tripadvisor@mirage.com and I would be happy to assist you in making your next reservation, or feel free to contact me if you have any further comments or questions.

Three nights there was enough to get the Las Vegas atmosphere. Heart of the city, short walk to get everywhere at the Strip. Crowded cheaper BlackJack Tables in Casino, had to go somewhere else when didn want to play minimum 50 dollars. Best bed we have ever sleep in - they sell everything but unfortunatly dont ship to Europe. Will stay again.

Came for a special celebration and was not disappointed. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms are large and well maintained. Location was perfect and valet parking staff was awesome. Lots of eating options and gambling options.

Highly recommend the mirage, it's like Disneyland for adults, you'll really have to be clocked in to experience every aspect of what this hotel offers. Luke Trusty and his staff were the focal point of our epic experience

Nice new sports book with a 85' big screen, great for catching the game. The rooms are nice, quiet and comfortable. Relax in a jet tub for after walking forever. I was supposed to have a tower suite but they had overbooked and I was downgraded and given a f&b credit. Not enough to make up for losing a suite though. Still this is s really nice hotel and casino. Class Act all the way.

I'd call this a party hotel, filled with every form of gambling ever devised by mankind. You have to navigate the casino to get to the elevators, so plan on being bombarded by gambling every where you go in this place. The rooms are very nice, especially considering the $100/night rate we got for a conference special, with a nice 40" LCD TV with HDMI inputs, but I was disappointed that there was no coffee maker in the room, and non available on request. So, I found a $10 model at WalMart rather than pay $3 at Starbucks each day. Everything but the room costs a fortune, especially the food. Plan on paying 50-100% above normal rates. Fortunately, right across the road is an Outback restaurant, but even it runs 25-40 above typical rates, so it is the location for sure. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and if you manage to get the right view, you can see the fire driven man made volcanoes each night (but beware - where you can see, you can also hear, up to 11 PM at night).

Room Tip: Read my review! But, if you have a travel fan and want to sleep early, the strip view is no problem...
