“Good hotel, fantastic location, don't eat from the minibar..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Just recently returned from an extended weekend in Vegas where we stayed at the Mirage. It was easy to get to from the airport (multiple shuttles available outside the arrivals terminal at the airport which take you to your hotel on the strip for 7.00$). It can be a bit daunting to select a hotel in Vegas, but if you choose the Mirage, you will not be disappointed in the location. It is in the center of the strip across from the Venetian and very near the Wynn, Wynn Encore, Cesar's Palace, Aria, Bellagio and the Monte Carlo so a lot of the famous attractions and casinos on the strip are very near this hotel. The hotel in all was very clean and well maintained and the rooms looked just like as posted on tripadvisor. A bit dissapointed that the Mirage Volcano was out of service for repairs. The Mirage lobby was impressive and the Casino was tasteful and elaborate (not unlike the majority of them along the strip). The hotel itself was not nearly as sleek, modern or glamorous as several of its newer, more pricey counterparts (ie Encore, Aria etc).

For the first night, we did not receive the King room that we had booked online. We then moved to the King room for our second night but quickly noticed that the light fixture above the shower had been leaking significant amounts of water into the bathtub below. The Mirage staff attended to this promptly and I suspect this type of incident does not commonly occur. As compensation, we were moved to a deluxe room and the 'utility fees' waived. Overall this incident was a minor inconvenience that was well handled by their staff.

The Beatles 'Love' cirque de soleil show (located in the Mirage) was absolutely stunning and there is no surprise it has been running for 5 years. We did not eat in their restaurants so I can't comment but the lively ''Rum Bar' has a great outdoor patio, overlooking the strip. Not the pinnacle of style or glamour in vegas but overall the Mirage was a great base camp for exploring the strip, was a decent price and had a helpful and courteous staff.

“Birthday Weekend Celebration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

The Mirage is in an excellent location...Had an excellent time in the casino. Had breakfast at the Cravings Buffet..You will not be disappointed.
The Forum Shops at Caesars in on one side and then the other side past Treasure Island is the Fashion Mall. Across the street is the Best Western Plus with the Casino Royale..Beside it is McDonalds for those on a budget and at the back of Casino Royale is Subway, Cinnabon, Pizza and Hotdogs also...If you are on a budget or spent too much in the casino your food is inexpensive!!
Great location all around, great staff, and yes we would stay there again.

“Not Bad....Not Great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Stayed at the Mirage during a first trip to Vegas on Superbowl weekend. Overall our stay was okay and the package deal that we got was quite reasonable.

First Off, this hotel is really starting to show its age. Corridors are long and dark and generally the hotel does not give off that modern feel.

The room was overall, good, spacious although the bathroom could have really used some modernisation. We had a strip view room on the 10th floor and there was no problem with noise. But, the storied volcano out front was not operational which was disappointing.

The staff were friendly, We have no complaints there.

We did hit the buffet for dinner one night as we were just looking for something quick and easy. THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE!!!!! Honestly, for $30 each, you would think that the hotel would make an effort. We got to the Buffet around 9:15, which we admit is a little late, but really, the staff seemed ready to go home. The food was cold, old, and not very plentiful at all. Having seen long line-ups to get in there earlier in our trip, we were extremely surprised at how bad the food was.

Our biggest complaint though was probably something that the hotel can't do a lot about....it was the atmosphere.
We visited at least 3 other hotels on the strip and had the feeling that there was a lot more life in those. Other hotels worked hard to make people want to stay in their establishments, The Mirage seemed to not get this. Go to New York New York, the beat and life of the hotel are evident, same with the Cosmopolitain.

We were aware of the $25/day resort fee before arriving, so we were not surprised by this. It would have been nice though if the hotel let you know what could be done with this, besides the wi-fi, which was easy and worked well. It would have been nice though if there was more information about where the gym was, what the resort fee entitled you to...etc. It felt more like a cash grab more than anything else.

Another thing, Mirage, set your guests up with an MLife card before they arrive or at check-in....that would make things easier for your guests, and it doesn't take any extra effort, you have all the necessary information already.

Would I stay in this hotel again?
The rooms are fine, the hotel is well located, but probably not, If I am going to Vegas, it is not to be put to sleep by my hotel. But if you want a more quiet stay, in a cost effective hotel...sure
