“The "NEW" Riviera in Las Vegas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

The Riviera Hotel in Las Veags has truly turned a new leaf. The hotel staff , cage crew, dealers, pit bosses, cocktail girls , maintenance crew, housekeeping staff, are all well versed in hospitality , and do try to make the guest feel welcome . Very pleasant recent trip. They want and appreciate your business, and do deserve it.

All the folks at the Riviera did their very best to accommodate us. From the room staff to the top the people tried to keep us happy. The food was good and the slots were friendly also !! We arrived home with chips not cashed and this was taken care of promptly. We tip our hate to the staff at Riviera!!

Was a little unsure of how our experience would be but once we checked in we found that our stay was just great. Room had been recently renovated and the action in the casino was top notch! Even though the casino is on the north end of the strip it's not more than a 15 minute walk to the middle of the action. Would definitely stay there again.

The Riviera and myself were very glad that you enjoyed your recent stay. We pride ourselves on our casino especially the "action" on our table games.

I was booked into Riviera as a package and then read reviews, which weren't great so my wife and I were a bit apprehensive. Travel agent had only booked us for two nights instead of three but receptionist sorted with minimum fuss. Room was fine if a little tired but looking at rates (we were there in October) it was good value. Staff were always friendly and it was easy to see this was once a top hotel that had been overtaken by their rivals further south. They are trying to recover their past glory and good luck to them. I wouldn't let other reviews put you off because it offers good value and if it is your first taste of LV at a good price this is not a bad place to start.

It is good to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you appreciated the value and service from our team. As I have written in previous responses we encourage all guests to ask the front desk agents about upgrading to the Monaco tower at check in. The Monaco rooms are our most newly remodeled. Please come back and see us soon.

Thank you

My friend had blood on the sheets in her room. Enough said. Me personally -upon arriving we were asked if we would like to upgrade for an additional charge. We agreed so that we would have a fridge and nicer room. First we couldn't get in our room, 20 min later they got us in (faulty door lock) and were told it wouldn't happen again and to just call down to the front desk if it did. The next day after walking all day it did. But you can't call from the hallway!!! After going to he front and waiting over 30 mins we were let in again and they fixed the lock this time. Then they sent someone to fix the fridge that didn't work and the alarm clock that we had to unplug because it wouldn't shut off. After speaking with someone at the front desk they said no up charge for the so call upgrade. At check out we were told we were still being charged and there was no manager there until 10 am.

Room Tip: Down the road and in the front door of any other casino!

I was distressed to learn of the difficulties you encountered while you were our guest. I was also surprised you were unable to speak to a manager as we have a supervisor on duty at the front desk 24 hours a day. We do our utmost to ensure every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to guest arrival. I will be sure to follow up with the front desk and Housekeeping departments regarding the issues you described.

Before you read my review, please understand, this was my first time in Vegas, and I had my hopes set high.
We booked the Riviera because of the reasonable price and it was on the strip.
There was a line at the check in line (which i found out very quick is a common thing in vegas)
The lady was nice and attentive.
The room was outdated and run down. There was high ceilings to give a spacious feel.
We had a smoking room, and the window did not open. Our view was a construction sight and the Circus Circus sign.
Walking to and from the hotel you had to walk through the casino, outside by the pool (which was not very big) and back inside. When we stayed it was freakishly cold (and we were unprepared) so the walk through the courtyard pool was a rather inconvience.
We stayed for 3 nights and no one came to our room to pick up trash or offer toiletries.
We had to call the front desk for towels. Took them forever to come up stairs.
When staying in vegas, if your on a budget this is probably a smart stay for on the strip.
But you do get what you pay for.
I would recommend spending the extra $50 for a little more class.

I am sorry to hear that you encountered some service issues at the Riviera. The fact that a guest room attendant never came by your room with fresh linens and to empty the trash receptacles is inexcusable and I will follow up with my housekeeping team to ensure the issue is corrected. I would also like to let you know that every wing and tower of the hotel is reachable indoors it is not required for our guests to go through the pool area to get to their rooms. We do our best to avoid lines but with 1000+ people checking in daily unfortunately it can be unavoidable, our front desk team members are great though and if their is a line it usually moves very quickly. As for the rooms we offer several different types and we do encourage our guests to book in our newly remodeled room product in the Monaco tower.

Thank you
