“Stay in a Spa Suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We go to Las Vegas every year in January, and every year we stay at a different hotel to get all the different Vegas experiences, but this year for the first time, we went back to the same hotel as the year before, and that was the Monte Carlo. The spa suites they have are so fantastic we couldn't resist going back. They're big, they're comfortable, the large spa at the window is amazing, no matter what your view. (We had the mountains and the strip view each year respectively.) The wet bar/mini fridge and bar stools were icing on the cake for us. The large flat screen TV is well situated, and they have a channel of a fireplace that we enjoy very much. I love the cloth on the wall where the bed is, and the beautiful crown molding and the wallpaper, the contrasting white/chic/luxury decor of the rooms is just so refreshing and light. The shower and bathroom is big and perfect as well. We also enjoy the easy layout of the hotel with the three legs because you can quickly learn how to navigate the hotel which makes for less of the spinning and backtracking that goes on in the other resorts that have odd layouts. The restaurants like Brand Steakhouse, Diablos, and The Pub were so delicious and enjoyable. The ice bar is great and we saw Jabbawockeez last year and The Blue Man Group there this year. Both shows were amazing. The Blue Man Group does this big parade through the casino every evening around 6:15 and it is NOT to be missed! We also love taking the free tram that goes to the Aria and the Bellagio, because of the tram, you get good walking access to the whole strip, which is fabulous, especially for the low prices we're able to get for these great suites. I highly recommend this hotel for spa suites if you're going to Las Vegas and like to save money, relax in style, but also want to be in the heart of the strip with easy access to everything.

I love the Monte Carlo! This is always our go-to hotel when we go to Vegas (we go a lot) when the prices are high. The Monte Carlo is usually one of the cheapest hotels to stay at on the strip, and I think you get more than what you spend. I feel that this is a very nice hotel. I love the casino and the rooms, and it has a great food court as well! The pool is also great. It is a little smaller than most hotels, but it has a pool, a wave pool, and a lazy river.

I think this hotel is even better now that they have connected it to Aria. Before, you had to walk along a huge construction site to get to the north of the strip, but now it is much nicer with all the new hotels. Monte Carlo is pretty much in the middle of the Vegas strip, I think it is a great location! I don't think you will be disappointed if you stay here, unless you are expecting a high class hotel.

We always felt the service in the restaurants were great and tipped accordingly. An extra note to hotel guests upon check in as to what is free and what is charged for since we were looking for a resort hotel with the spa amenities. and never expected to pay first hotel fees on top of resort fees on top of spa fees. At check in this shoud be made quite clear to people who are looking forward to using the spa and do not find out about the cost until they are dressed to attend the spa and use the elevator to go to the spa and there is an unexpected fee. So my husband used the spa anyway and charged it to the room because he did not take money with him because of his thought that this service was included and looked forward to going. He uses his local YMCA spa area at home an knows the equipment so he was excited to go.

Our room was very nice and very good quality for the price we paid. It's so nice that the hotel is attached to shopping and the food court. The staff were very helpful and the buffet had everything we wanted. We were very happy with our stay at the Monte Carlo and would recommend it for people who are going to Vegas and don't want to spend a lot on their room.

Very good property, great front desk staff, great location, and large rooms, as a typical newer vegas hotel on the strip. The two things that need improvement are tv channles, - non of which are in HD, and the bathroom need a de-molding. There was black mold along the caulking of the bathtub and this is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel. A simple bleach spray or a simple recaulking could do the job - unless it is a serious mold problem behind the tiles.

Resort fees like all vegas hotels were a rip-off, especially when there was no tea bags or adequate water bottles in the room. No wifi, only cable internet - sluggish, no mugs for the morning coffee. Free USA Today?? Who even reads that??? Also, the biggest pet peeve was the fact that any printing at the business center required you to pay extra (1.50 for one page), unless for boarding pass or hotel receipt. Both of which are complimentary at the front desk and at the airports anyways.

Room Tip: Ask for strip view, you are in Vegas!

Stayed New Year's Eve through jan 4th 2013. Our room was rough at best. Sofa
Looked as if it was out of a frat house. Curtains broken. Stains on carpet. Wife hated it. Also shopping areas to the tram
Smell day and night of sewer plant! Going back to vegas in February. But never again at the Monte Carlo. We will be staying at the Wynn- Encore this trip.

We spent two nights here recently, honestly it was not to our taste. It looks ok I suppose - others have overtaken it in the locality in terms of overblown bluster and ridiculous splendour, the restaurants seem quite good....that's about it. We had the feel of meat in the LV grinder. The whole place is designed loosen your wallet in a none-too-subtle fashion - I mean both LV and the Monte Carlo. It can come as a surprise to find smoking indoors in this day and age, that might put some off the experience. I was more surprised at the dancing girl bumping and grinding in her undies on a table of some kind while 10 year old kids watched. It felt horrible. The room we had was fine - clean and large, bathroom was a little bit old and tired. We also were left with a somewhat nasty taste after breakfast due to a error at check in by staff caused 'The Manager' to be called on us. Highly unnecessary, guaranteeing we'll not return - definitely to Monte Carlo, almost certainly to LV.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else !
