we stayed here with my son with friends in another hotel for birthdays. i liked this hotel on paper as we got a bigger type of room for the price. we could get in and out of the hotel via the 2nd floor shops without going through the smoky casino while with our son which was great. this review may not be worth reading if you are not going with kids as i have written it in that way. there were lots of eating opportunities and i would recommend the tinteretto bakery or dal toro for breakfast. its a bit confusing to start with as the palazzo and ventian are joined and the casinos and shops seem to blend into one. the "first" bar/restaurant had intermittent service, good view of the pirate show at night time. did hear quite alot of noise from our neighbour a couple of nights, the walls are not the thickest.. the swimming pool on 4th floor did not get an awful lot of sun during the afternoon so although heated, when you got out it was freezing and a quick dash to the room to warm up. vegas is not a complete sin city for people with kids. there are the "ladies for rent" card flickers further up the strip near planet hollywood, no sign of them near us. there is an great games arcade where you pay up front and play, near MGM, gamesworks, and M and M world. we also did the grand canyon. shopping opportunities are great, including the Town Square mall,, which does not appear in the guide books and was not mentioned by our rep but has a small kids play area with tree house, slides, maze and a water play area (not open as it was cold !!) in among the shops. tuscan brio grille was a great lunch stop if a bit noisy as it is next to the airport. it was nice to take our son to look at the statues at luxor, eiffel tower, pirate show etc which cost nothing. because we stayed at venetian we got given $25 slot credit which we turned into $40, money off gondola ride and madame tussauds. my husband recommends harrahs for blackjack as it had the lowest table prices and friendly croupiers. usual story of move anything in the mini bar and you get charged so you can't store anything else in the fridge, there is a walgreens at the bottom of the palazzo where you can get really cheap bottles of water, coke etc. so don't use the mini bar. the fashion show mall across the road has a reasonable food court. the airport for return journey is really naff. the international terminal is tiny and the shuttle bus that takes you to the domestic terminal is only slightly better.

On arrivng, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a updated room. I passed on it and we
were sent to the Venenzia wing, floor 2. What a room !!! I loved the old world decor and
it was in mint new condition. I cannot imagine a more beautiful room so I am glad I passed up on the offer to pay more on contemporary decor. The bath was a large
14x12 marble delight. The Venenzia garden pool is a slice of heaven with multiple
pools all with foutains and heated water- all separated by garden design. What a
beautiful get-away.

Fun, clean, exciting, great pool and massive rooms. Lots to see and do just in the hotel itself - with shows (Jersey Boys was fab), shops, restaurants, the casino and its very own indoor canal. Location right in the centre of the strip - just amazing!!

Big Nice etc as all Vegas hotel of this category BUT ROOMS ARE DARK (no hub caps etc and other amenities and their soap smells bad) don't book on their web site because they charge you twice and it is a lot arguing effort to make them refund you.
Location is good, Hotel is busy (specially on convention), rooms are big (and dark) but you can hear all what is happening in the corridor, Pool is nice but not sunny after 3.30....
I would say, stay somewhere else and come have dinner and visit and have dinner at the Grand canal... And for sure NOT a FAMILY hotel

We've stayed twice at the Venetian now.. and use it as our base to drive to other destinations (Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, etc.). We're not gamblers and actually hate walking in that mess of people crowding the Strip outside but this is a hotel where we don't have to go outside for anything. Plenty of food options right in the Venetian - good coffee and decent pastries downstairs at the Buchon stand just a few feet from the elevator lobby and the Grand Lux restaurant has an extensive menu (including good fresh salads) for a reasonably price (but top-shelf martinis are $16!). We like to have one nice dinner each time we're in Vegas. Buchon (the restaurant) disappointed, but Delmonico's was great (and pricey). You must try their crab cakes.. and the bone-in rib eye steak was big enough for the two of us to share.

What's great about this hotel? It's located near the end of the strip so there's less traffic to weave through when trying to get out of town and there's no fee for parking your car here (I think it's tacky that hotels charge a fee for that). However, since their garage is a cavernous maze (no exaggeration here), we now opt for valet parking and have the carhops find our car when we need to drive somewhere for the day. The tip is worth avoiding the hassle of walking for almost miles trying to find where the car was left!

The staff has always been great to us.. but we see that sometimes guests may be drunk, unreasonably demanding, beyond ill-mannered (hence some of the complaints about the hotel). I do leave tip for the housekeepers and request anything additional we need: soap, extra towels, shampoo, etc. Respect begets respect (good treatment) in return.

Large, clean rooms with big, big bathrooms, automatic drapes, the most comfortable beds and nice comforters AND 3 TVs! No fighting over which program we want to watch.. ever. We got free Internet access because we signed up for the Club Grazie membership and we were given slots play money to use. Did I mention we weren't gamblers? It took us a while to figure out how to use the cash card in their slot machines!

Since this hotel is one of the largest in Vegas, the waits for our car and checking into the room can take awhile.. very long lines. Yes, we note the perfume pumped through their hvac system but it's not overpowering (I'm very sensitive to odors/fumes) and I prefer this over cigarette smoke odors. We'll be back, for sure. I never want to go home when I'm staying here.. but, alas, we have responsibilities.
