“Good value and fun for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

We chose this resort to have a large room since our kids were traveling with us. Unfortunately, there are no walls between the bedroom and living area, but we loved the extra space. The bathrooms are also large. The rooms are clean and quiet. We could have spent days just wandering the hotel. The canal area is a great attraction. Be warned, if you have trouble walking the Venezia tower is quiet a distance from everything! We had a view of the pool area which was fine with me....no noise. I know some reviews talk about the casino smoke, but after walking through Ceasars, The Bellagio, and The Stratosphere, the Venetian smoke seemed like nothing.

We booked the Winter in Venice package which was a great deal. When we checked in, we were offered an upgrade to a "Strip view" for an extra $45 per night but declined, as we were not here to stay in and look out of the window! However, when we got to our room, we had a side view of the Strip, and could clearly see Caesar's Palace and Mirage, not to mention a great mountain view, which was enhanced by a group of hot air balloons on our last day. I agree with some of the previous comments that a hotel such as this, should have a fridge and coffee machine in the room. staff were pleasnat and friendly, but really came in to their own when my husband was taken ill and was advised, by the hotel doctor, to go to ER. I cannot praise the kindness we were both shown enough. All in all, we loved our stay, just a pity we missed one day sitting in the ER!!!! Oh, and housekeeping never cleaned our room one day, but, as soon as we requested someone, it was done.

Room Tip: Before paying for an upgrade find out EXACTLy what view you do have. It might not be worth the extra...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind words and feedback! I am pleased to read about how much you enjoyed your stay. I also appreciate your insightful suggestion about in suite coffee makers. It is never our intention to cause our guests this unnecessary stress or inconvenience. For your next visit I want to recommend that you take advantage of the complimentary cup of coffee available as part of our resort fee. It can be redeemed at Cafe Presse with the voucher that you received at the time of check in.

Thank you for you positive feedback and it is my sincere hope that I will have the privilege of welcoming you back to The Venetian | The Palazzo in the near future.

At check in we were upgraded to a magnificent suitet for no reason at all. The hotel staff throughout were friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful, expensive property but helps me forget that Las Vegas is a tacky town.

We stayed here for five nights whilst we were in Vegas for our wedding in September and found the hotel to be of a high standard.
Check in was busy but the staff worked efficiently and we were soon in our room. The suite was lovely, clean and very spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and good views of the strip and the Mirage over the road. We also had free Wi-Fi which was a bonus.
We found concierge very helpful and informative and ideal for booking shows and restaurants.
Breakfast was very good, reasonable choice and food was of a good quality. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful.
We only spent a short time in the casino, but whilst there we noticed there was maintenance work being carried out in certain areas which restricted use of some machines, but not too much of an issue.
Would definately stay at the Venetian if we return to Vegas.

We stayed a couple of nights in the Venetian. First impressions- enormous hotel, cavernous lobby, and an airport style queue to check in! The staff were polite and efficient, and helped with the luggage, though only after we had checked in. (They also helped us make some reservations and bookings later).

The room itself was beautiful, overlooking the pool area and with a (mostly) unobstructed view of the hills beyond Las Vegas.

The casino is absolutely massive, and there's games to suit most budgets. The hotel gives you $20 worth of complimentary chips each to start you off, then you're on your own! The casino can swallow at least a few hours of your evening, and quite enjoyable.

All in all, the hotel has nice rooms and a nice casino but don't go there expecting personalised service!

While I am pleased that your stay was positive overall, I apologize about the lack of personalized service that you experienced. Providing unmatched individualized service is a hallmark of our standards here at the resort and I am disheartened that you did not experience this during your stay.

We just returned from five nights at the Venetian for our Christmas getaway. We had a nice king suite on the 10th floor of the Venezia Tower but sadly it looked onto a construction site for a mega ferris wheel and endless parking lots. This was our "upgrade". We failed to ask about the view. Still the accommodations were quite luxurious and the bed was about the most comfortable we've ever experienced. The deep Roman tub was used daily and the separate shower had a generous shower head with two additional jets coming out on either side of the faucet. It was heavenly. What bothered us were occasional sulphur smells coming from the shower drain. As well, there was a smell of urine in the small room housing the toilet. It looked impeccably clean but the odor persisted. For a five star hotel, this was disappointing.
The room had two large wall mounted TV's, one in the bedroom and the other in the sunken living room. They were Samsung with exceptionally clear reception and picture quality. A TV in the bathroom would have made the long tub soaks a bit more accommodating. We were told this room had just been refurbished.
The closet was very small but the dresser had plenty of drawer space. There was a wall safe in the closet.
In the desk there was a 3 in 1 printer, fax, scanner. We had considerable difficulty getting our laptop to find the drivers for the HP Officejet 4620. Download it before you visit!
There is a daily $20 "resort fee" which seemed excessive considering we really didn't get any additional service other than an internet connection. It was too cold to enjoy the gardens and pools (all outdoor).
We love to play the slots. We are not big gamblers but still enjoy the fun. We noted that it was very difficult to get drink from the floor waitresses. They seemed to be few and far between. The temperature in the casino was too high and very uncomfortable for the entire time. We mentioned it several times to the floor managers. We went next door to the Wynn and found it much more comfortable and less smoky.
In July we stayed at Palazzo and found the room much more spacious, clean and comfortable.
We are several meals at the Grand Lux Cafe and we just love the place. My wife had the spaghetti with shrimp and clams. It was one of the best dishes she has ever had. My "joy" was the Kobe burger. It was juicy and bounding with flavor. The Greek salad is highly recommended. The olives were delightful and the dressing was not excessive and perfectly blended.
"Carnevino" restaurant in the Plazzo was superb and will be reviewed under restaurants.
On Christmas Eve we attended the "Mannheim Steamroller" concert in the Palazzo Theatre. The music was so much fun and so uplifting. What was odd was amateurish choreography that often seemed to have no connection to the music e.g. a young man doing tricks with a large ring. It was distracting in contrast to the beautiful music.
We visited the Da Vinci exhibit in the main lobby. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and learned so much about the great man. The reconstructed models bring to life so much of the genius of Da Vinci. The extensive display of the Mona Lisa is truly fascinating. Discount tickets are available from the concierge.
All in all, a good visit. Next time we will likely return to the Palazzo. Is the Venetian showing a bit of age?

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your very extensive review and providing so many details and insights. I am particularly struck by the time and extensive detail that you provided future visitors to The Venetian | The Palazzo. I appreciate your thoughtful review and concern to advise fellow travelers of the tips, locations and moments that made your stay so memorable and special.

While I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall, I would like to apologize that you had an odor on occasion that disturbed you. This is not our standard and I apologize for any stress or inconvenience caused by this scent during your stay.

I also wanted to take a moment and clarify our resort fee. Many guests enjoy the abundant benefits that the resort fee offers. Included in the fee is complimentary internet access, access to our fitness center, a complimentary cup of coffee from Cafe Presse and daily newspaper among many other benefits. I am apologizing specifically that all the benefits of the resort fee were not more clearly explained to you.

I value your patronage and certainly hope to host you again so that we may continue to amaze you with our Unmatched Service Standards and opulent accommodations.

Kind Regards,

We stayed at the Venetian For a week and we weren't disappointed we could walk to most places from our hotel , a bit about the room now was very spacious, clean ,comfortable beds, great view of the boulevard , the staff could not do enough for you anything we asked for was delivered to our room promptly and with a smile x the man who took our cases up on arrival advised us on a few things and told us when he worked and if we needed anything not to hesitate in contacting him this made us feel very welcome .
My husband and I loved shopping in the hotel and all the other shopping malls that are within easy walking distance .
Great Christmas decorations and atmosphere
While in the casino the drinks were free for a small well deserved tip to the waitress who look after everyone very well
I had read in other reviews that some people felt this hotel was too big and impersonal this is. Not the case it is large but good signage let's you know where you are and where you want to be going all in all we had a brilliant time there and are already planning another trip to Vegas and will definitely be staying in the Venetian again

Room Tip: Lor rooms Not so great views but can be a lot larger
