“All The Perks of Vegas But Family Style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Hubby and I were staying close by in an RV Resort and decided to try the "local's" casino. It was love at first site. The entrance to the hotel, casino and restaurant reminded us of the lodges at Glacier National Park. All the staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions. The dealers were friendly and we had fun although we didn’t win. We ate at Seasons, the buffet, and enjoyed the food as much as the Italian restaurant at the Venetian where we ate the previous night at several times the price. We did talk with the desk manager and found out that the entire hotel had been refurbished a few years ago and it did look clean and fresh. The rooms were very reasonable and the entire resort is packaged very nicely. If you want to have the Vegas experience, the drive to the strip isn’t long. This is a more family friendly area but still has the casino, bars and dining.

“Local's Casino”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I stayed here while visiting our Vegas office, and our staff says this is a local's resort. It's off the strip, and many locals come here so that they don't have to contend with the visitors on the strip. This is a no-frills resort. The rooms are fairly basic, but well cared-for. It's not a bad hotel, but it's not a five-star hotel either. The bed was fantastic, and the pillows were perfect--I've rarely had that to say about the bed or pillows. Perhaps it's just their western, rustic motif, but they use some cheesy drift wood in places, and they painted their TV cabinet (they still have a tube TV), I suppose to hide some wear on the wood. It looked tacky. Only the light by the door is on a switch; you have to turn on all other lights manually. The two-person leather couch is very comfortable. There is a writing table with two chairs. The AC unit has a digital thermometer and works fairly well--no complaints there, although it's a bit loud. The elevators are oh so slow. Not a problem, but it's just annoying, coming from the east coast. The restaurants around the casino floor are decent. They have several restaurants with different cuisine, even one with a well-stocked buffet. There's a Starbucks and a Johnny Rockets, too.

“Nice Hotel on the South end of the strip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

We Stayed at the Silverton for 5 days and it was as good as most of the hotels on the strip and without the crowds. Players club was very player freindly and we got many perks from it. Rooms are very decent, clean and well maintained. You can't beat the price we paid $29 per night!!!

“Silverton, our second stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

A wonderful stay, once again. A new gift shop has been added. We brought my daughter and another couple with us this time. They also agree that this property is clean, comfortable, a place for Starbuck coffee lovers and good food. Easy shuttle to the strip and the airport. We also enjoyed the San Gennaro Feast that was held next door along with the slots and Bass Pro shop. We will be back!!

Room Tip: a pool view room is nice.

“Basic room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

I recently stayed in one of their basic (rustic) rooms. The lighting was very poor and the room was very dark. I did appreciate the western feel to the room. I had a pool view but was staying off season so the pool was closed. Check-in was super easy and the staff there was very friendly. The walls are very thin and I heard the people on either side of me, the people above me and people walking in the halls. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small and cramped. It was clean but nothing to write home about. Would I stay here again or recomend it to friends? Probably but I'm not sure if it is my first choice. Price was great with a promotion they had and the Silverton Rewards card discount.
