“A Great Value, Nice Accomodations, Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2007

I was really impressed by the TI. Upon first arriving, I got a little nervous about the service. My only complaint about this trip was the start...checking in. There was a long line of check-ins and only three people working the front desk. We waited about 25 minutes to check in. (We did arrive for New Year's Eve and I'm thinking that hiccup was due to the crowds for the holidays).

Other than this, the rest of the trip was flawless. We had just a standard suite, the deluxe room. I'm always wondering what the basic room at a hotel will be like, but we were pleasantly surprised. The suite, although a standard size small suite, was very very clean, had an awesome view of the strip, had modern updated decor, and a nice bathroom that had a tinge of luxury. The bathtub is a large tub/shower combination (not a garden tub and separate shower if that matters to you). The room was cleaned great every day.

The hotel and casino always had a pleasant smell, no smoky smells in our opinion. The lobby is nice. The taxi stand moved very efficiently and fast (even if the line was long).

The casino is great. It's not too big and not too small. We felt the machines were not as tight as some of the others we've stayed at. The TI Poker Room is awesome. I highly recommend playing in one of the tournaments they have. The atmosphere is laid back, you don't feel pressure, and the dealers in the room are great. Very personable and the staff is attentive. If you like poker, I'm sure you'll like their poker room.

There are several good places to eat. The buffet "Dishes" was great. Like all Vegas buffets, it was a little expensive, but worth it. Kahunaville is great for lunch. The food there was awesome. Despite having the look of a bar, there is a sit down dining room that is more laid back that isn't visible from the main entrance to the restaurant so don't be fooled. Every 20 minutes or so there is a small water show where the decorative waterfall turns into a lighted water show. It's a small thing to see, but it's kind of neat while you're eating. The pricing is average. Canter's Deli is a fast fix. It is also great for lunch. Their ruben is to die for and their potato salad is good too. It's affordable. If you like Vietnamese food, there's Pho. I personally didn't care for it. You can tell it's quality food, it just didn't meet my taste buds.

The location of the TI is great. There are several shops within the hotel itself. There is a tram that runs between it and The Mirage that is easy to ride on and is free (not to be confused with the Las Vegas Monorail). There are also escalotors that literally spit you out at the Fashion Show Mall, which is nice. It has all the shopping you could want. The TI is right on the strip, so you are also within walking distance of many other hotels and casinos. We walked to The Bellagio, Wynn hotel, The Mirage, and the Venetian to name a few.

The prices for a hotel room at this hotel are among the best I've seen on the strip and let me tell you...it's worth it. I think this may be one of the best values on the strip.

“Treasure Island is A-OK”

My mother and I recently spent 4 nights at Treasure Island. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. The room was failry spacious, updated, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only issue we had were the extremely tiny pillows they give you (outside of the huge suade ones). If you like comfy or large pillows bring your own!
We enjoyed the tram from TI to the Mirage, took advantage of it quite often. We found a coffee shop at the Mirage..Beanz I think, where we liked to eat our breakfeast -- wide assortment of pastries as well as fruit, yogurt, bagels etc.
Location of TI was great. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from other major hotels. Also, very close to the Fashion Show Mall -- good shopping!
I would say TI is a comfy, mid-range hotel...and if you are looking for a good price, and a good location then I would definitely stay here!

“Okay time at Treasure Island”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2007

We stayed at Treasure Island for 4 nights in early January 2007.

We had a standard room (27110) at the very end of the hall, with a North-facing view. We liked the position of the room, but it is quite a hike from the elevator, so be aware of this if you request a room at the end of the hall.

As others have noted, the bed is comfy. The pillows, however, are not so comfy. They are so tiny. Make sure to ask for extras. Also, there is no mini-fridge or coffee/tea in the room.

The room was an okay size. However, we could hear everything coming from the room next door. While there, we heard our neighbour's cell phone ringing and his entire conversation (word for word). Luckily, we had good neighbours (no noise at night), but I was suprised to find the rooms so lacking in sound-proofing.

Treasure Island has a good location. It is close to the Wynn and the Venetian and the Fashion Show Mall.

We ate at the Buffet (good for breakfast - lots of choice, and you get coffee and juice included in the price). There is always a line, but it moves quickly. We also tried the Coffee Shop (good, huge portions) and Pho (it was okay, but I wouldn't go back).

The check-in was interesting. We got there around 11am, and were unable to check-in, since it doesn't open until noon. When we went back at noon, the line was huge. We felt like we were waiting in line for concert tickets.

Overall, this hotel was okay. I can't say anything really bad, and I would go back if I got a good deal. However, it seemed to lack something, and I think that for a few extra bucks, it would be worth it to try the Wynn or the Venetian.

“Great location”

We spent the nights of January 1 and January 2, 2007 at Treasure Island. The location of the hotel is great as far as its relation to other hotels on the Strip, especially for the price we paid ($99/night). Our extended family actually had 4 rooms booked but when we arrived (5pm) only one of them was clean. By 9pm, one was still not ready. I suppose this is somewhat excused because it was a holiday and they were short on housekeeping staff, but it bothered my in-laws quite a bit. Other than that small problem, the hotel was great. The beds are absolutely the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. They were amazing. The rooms had flat screen tv's and were very new-looking and spacious. The rooms also did not smell of smoke at all, thankfully. We didn't gamble, and we didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on those aspects. The "Sirens of TI" show out front is ridiculous - don't waste your time. Thankfully it was free.

“Great stay despite winter maintenance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2007

My hubby and I stayed at Ti Dec 3-4, 2006. The petite suite was beautiful and had an awesome view of the strip. His and hers bathrooms gave my hubby and I just enough space that we didn't drive each other crazy this trip... that was a great aspect of the room, besides the huge soaking tub, which was kind of a novelty but very nice. The bed was comfy and the room was clean and neat. The only thing I found worn was one drawer on our dresser was off track, and we were unable to fix it, but no big deal. The bathrooms were spotless every day when we returned to the room. All the staff we encountered were very polite. We particularly noticed the high prices for snacks and convenience items at the vending machines and gift shops, if you can find a local drug store and stock up, it will be cheaper. We ate at the buffet for lunch and it was good. We also ate at the Cafe and it was pretty good too. We really enjoyed the "Dueling Pianos" at the Kahunaville bar. We also ate there and the food wasn't great, but okay. We were disappointed that we stayed at TI while they were doing winter maintenance, so the Sirens show was shut down and the Tangerine bar was closed. Bummer...... I highly recommend the petite suite at the TI, I didn't see any of the other rooms. There is close access to the Mirage also, from TI by tram and walkways to the Fashion Show Mall. Also, don't gamble at TI, we lost too much money, no slots were hitting. Oh, the other thing we noticed was the construction across the street, the Venetian addition. It was a little noisy during the day but didn't notice much at night.
