“Don't Always Trust Reviews”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

I booked this hotel after all the great reviews. Well, after checking in, it is not a 4+ star hotel. First, it is a small nondescript building that does not even have a sign telling you where the front door/lobby is. Ya, it is easy to figure out, but it leaves you feeling you are walking into just a regular building. It is close to the strip, but the surrounding areas are not very inviting. The rooms are on the small side and please, I don't consider a small room with a treadmill and an elliptical a "work out" room. I would pay maybe $65 for this room, but not the $90 I forked over. There are so many better options if you want a non casino hotel. Try any of the Marriott or Hilton properties. The Hilton Grand Vacations on the strip (2650 S Las Vegas Blvd) is a million times better facility on EVERY LEVEL and can at times be booked for as low as $70 a night.

Room Tip: make sure to ask for a room on the non construction side. If you don't, you will get a nice wake...

We just returned from a one week stay at The Carriage House and were not very satisfied. The toaster did not work (actually set off the smoke detector) so we got that replaced. Then we found out later that the coffee maker also did not work, so once again we had to have it replaced. Later in the week we got a movie from the front desk and then found out the DVD remote did not work. You had to get on your hands and knees to operate it. Although these problems were irksome, the main reason for a lower score was the very dirty and old carpet. As well the caulking around the tub was separating and mold was growing in behind it. All in all not a very good stay.

Room Tip: If you do stay there try to get a room away from the construction noise from the Marriott Grand Chat...

We stayed two weeks at this property. It was a short walk to the strip. So conveniently located to everything. Although the Marriott next door is under construction, and it is somewhat noisy through the day, you don't come to Vegas to sleep. This property is very well kept and clean. Staff are courteous and knowledgeable. The concierge was a great resource for shows and local attractions.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 821 which faced the construction. If you ask for the opposite side of the building...

So thankful we found this place while on a recent business trip to Las Vegas. Clean and spacious with an excellent full kitchen. Fast WIFI connection and comfortable furniture and bed. The front desk was very helpful and though we did not get to see a show, we did talk with the concierge, who was very willing to obtain tickets at a discounted price. I would not hesitate to return to this quiet haven that is close to everything!

Excellent and quiet location. Clean and spacious rooms. Ktichenette in the room. Helpful people at the front desk. Very nice concierge who got us tickets for a show. And all this for an excellente price. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: At this moment they are constructing a new hotel on The Strip "side". They start early.

Our trip was cut short because of a family emergency, but the manager was very helpful. When we checked in the woman helping us didn't give us our parking pass or mention wi-fi, but both were taken care of the following day...she said she wouldn't have forgotten, but she did and only gave us our room keys, no other info. The location was very good and the security was good.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the street , not pool and was fairly quiet, but I suggest a 1 bdrm, not a studio...

Just stayed her for 7 days in Jan 2013. Despite LV having the coldest weather in 7 years we enjoyed our stay. We did not use the tennis or pool because of the weather and running out of time when it did warm up the last 2 days. I is one LONG 1/2 block off the strip and very good location. I we go again we would surely consider it very strongly. Employees were very helpful and had good info on what to see. We cooked most of our meals in the full kitchen and saved money. The only problem we had was the heat did no seem to do the trick it would get just so warm and then blow cold air. I asked about it and the service man said it was ok, it was not. There was a strong smell of cig smoke in our hall which seemed to be better after the first day. di laundry in the handy laundry on each floor. I am not HOT on Vegas and don't gamble but if I return would check out the Carriage House on Harmon across the street from Planet Hollywood.

Room Tip: All seemed good.
