“Pleasantly Surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2006

We were pleasantly surprised by this economical hotel. The room was large, very nice, and in good condition. There were numerous eateries as well as the movie theaters and a first class 2-for-one show. We had dinner at the French Market Buffet twice ($7 per person) and were given a free bottle of wine each time (part of the fun book). One possible drawback is that the hotel is located about 2 miles off the strip. You have to take the free hotel shuttle, a cab, or drive your own car. All in all we would strongly recommend the Orleans. We will probably stay here again when we return to Las Vegas.

  • Liked — luxurious but not gawdy
  • Disliked — fire alarm went off but hotel failed to advise re outcome and all clear

My husband and I have been to the Orleans previously just to go and gamble. Last year we decided to stay there. It was the best, from the time we arrive until we left , the staff was friendly and the service was great. The valet parking was fantastic, we never waited more than 5 mins. for our car. I was even impressed with the elevators as soon as I hit the button I always had the doors open. The room was comfortable and clean.
I have stayed in various hotels over the years I have been going to Vegas. Which is about 25 yrs, I have to say I was very happy with the Orleans. We are going back in November and staying for 1 week.
This hotel is great if you rent a car cause it is easy to access most of the main roads from the hotel.
I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to pay the high prices on the strip.

  • Liked — The great service
  • Disliked — the comps weren't as good as some other hotels

My girlfriend and I stayed here in August and will DEFINITELY stay here again! We got a outstanding rate on USAirways for the hotel and airfair from Cleveland, Ohio together and was not dissapointed. This was the first time ever staying there or even going into the Orleans and have been to Vegas several times. The rooms were very beautiful and quiet and beds very comfortable and clean, as was the rest of the hotel. We ate at the buffett for dinner once and breakfast and the food was very good. They even have the dinner buffett priced at $7.00 on certain days and WELL worth that price. There was even a coupon for a free bottle of wine with dinner purchase!

The casino was great with most tables $5 min on black jack and were even a couple of $3 tables, as well as 1 and 5cent slots that seemed to let you play for a while.

The pool area was very nice and spacious and all the staff was very accomadating and friendly.

There is a shuttle to the strip area that went to the Barbary Coast and the other " Coast" hotels that ran pretty smoothly. We always rent a car, so we only used that service a couple of times.

I would DEFINITELY recomend this motel to everyone and will DEFINITELY stay there again! Probably one of the best experiences Ive had in all the places that Ive stayed before.

  • Liked — The price, staff and food
  • Disliked — No real view on our room, but didn't matter at all

This hotel was great place to stay off the strip. If you have a car it takes 5 minutes to get to the strip. We ate at the buffet for breakfast
& dinner the food was good and my husband really liked the desserts. We have plans to move to Vegas soon, I would love to work at The Orleans

  • Liked — The room was big for a hotel room
  • Disliked — The rug could have been cleaner
  • Tips/Secrets — Rent a car it's easy to get around

our first visit to the orleans was this past august.all reservations were made on the internet. upon our arrival we were greeted by courteous, friendly valet who took care of our parking. we were allowed to check in early. the desk clerk was very friendly and efficient. it was necesary to show our room key to get on the elavator to go to our room. we liked the security measure. the elavator, the halls, and our room were very clean and well kept. the bed was comfortable and the room furnished nicely. the staff were friendly and honest. we stayed there 2 days then drove to kanab, utah on our way to the grand canyon. there we discovered we had left my husband's prescriptions in the room. when we called, we talked to head housekeeper delores who said she would try to find them, she said she would call us long distance in utah. she called in about 1/2 hour and saif she had them and would hold them for us since we were returning on thursday. great service!! we ate at 3 of the restaurants and liked all 3. there is shuttle service every 20 minutes to the strip. we will always stay at the orleans. we were very happy with the visit.

We have stayed at the Orleans the last 4 trips to Vegas. We have always had polite and courtious people to deal with. Food was good and they have a choice of smaller eateries other than the buffets. The only negative I have to say is with regards to their wheelchair availability, we couldn't take if off the premises. We fixed that problem by bringing one with us. You can also get lots of mardi gras beads.

  • Liked — casino is very open and not crowded
  • Disliked — smokers - but you get that at all the casinos
  • Tips/Secrets — if you find a cheap price for the rates, the orleans will match the amount if booking with them.

My husband, mother in law and I stayed at the Orleans for 2 nihgts September 5th to the 7th. As always the hotel was great! Check in was quick and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable with 2 queen beds, loveseat and a cute chair. We received 2 free buffets with our reservation and Wednesday night steak night was good. The only complaint that I have is that the pool area closes at 7 PM, but the pool area was very inviting and had many lounge chairs. You can rent floats even though the pool depth is only 3' 8". They have a huge jacuzzi area but with the temps being 100 I did not take a dip. They have a machine downstairs where you can print your boarding passes, so I did get "A" boarding passes with Southwest which was sweet. The casino staff and the waitresses were wonderful. Can't wait to return next year. Coast hotels are the best!
