I enjoyed my stay at The Orleans. The hotel is in great condition and you can tell they care about the upkeep. If you stay there, you'll need to keep a few things in mind.

First, the location. The Orleans is well beyond walking distance to anything else including the Strip. Coast Hotels provides a shuttle between The Orleans, Gold Coast and Barbary Coast Hotels. The shuttles to the Barbary Coast are often full and don't run as often as the one to the Gold Coast so it's hard to get to the strip.

Second, the machines. Staying at The Orleans, I was disappointed in the Slot Gaming. The machines appeared to be set very tightly and I never experienced any decent payoffs. The table gaming was fine. I had great slot playing at Bally's and Palace Station but they are a long way from The Orleans.

The staff was relatively friendly at The Orleans. The desk clerk had a bit of a chip on her shoulder but the bellman, Chase, was awesome. He was friendly and helpful. One nice thing that The Orleans does is check room keys before allowing people on the elevator. This really keeps people without a purpose on the guestroom floors. The security staff actually comes by and chit chats.

The pool at The Orleans is huge and very nice. If you are going to Vegas to hang out, very few pools can beat this one.

I don't think I'll stay there again because of the location. That is no fault of the hotel. In the past, I have stayed at Aladin and Bally's for a similar price and was able to move from casino to casino at will.

My wife and I stayed here for four days 20 -24 June 2005. Check in was easy enough, but when I asked the quickest way to get to the room they told me to walk through the Casino. I only found out later there was a parking garage out back with much quicker access to the elevators and without having to haul all of your luggage through the casino.

Nice room on the 19th floor overlooking a parking lot, the mountains, and the north end of the strip. Very large room with, a sofa, easy chair, a very comfortable bed, and a big bathroom. Coupon book was okay, free fries and a small drink at terrible mikes hamburger joint (made the price about what you would pay at a regular hamburger joint), some free cocktail coupons and Gold and Barbary Coast (couldn't make a pina colada at either). The Market buffet disappointed; while there were a lot of different types of food, there wasn't a lot of flavor in any of it.

Housekeeping was usually very good, but on our last night, they didn't change out our towels, or restock amenities, the later I can live without, but the former, I need.

Overall a nice stay, but next time I'll spend a bit more and stay on the strip, or downtown.

We stayed at the Orleans from Sunday, June 19 thru Thursday June 23.
Upon check I asked the lovely young lady at the desk if there we any upgrades available for two old folks celebrating their 45th wedding anniversery. She proceeded to give us a beautiful strip view room on the top floor of the hotel.
Everyone we encountered was wonderful and the dinner on our a anniversary in the Prime Rib Lounge was one of the best we have ever had.
Parking is a snap also once we figured out to go out the exit next to the shoe shine stand to the garage.
Entertainment in the Irish pub was great as was the performance by Giovani in the Showroom.
This is a great hotel and is very well managed with super employees.

My husband and I recently returned from a 3 night stay at the Orleans Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas. It was great! The room was spacious, modern and clean. The staff was very polite and gracious. They have a shuttle service every 15-20 min. to the strip and it runs until 12:30 am. We booked our room through their web site and only paid $60.00 a night. It was a wonderful place and we will definitely stay there again.

Our family of four stayed at the Orleans June 20th to the 25th. It is a great hotel for the price. The kids lived at the pool and there was a poolside bar. It did get a little crowded on Friday afternoon. The arcade and especially bowling was also a hit. Neither were particularly crowded whenever we were there. This is a hotel with lots of kids and the staff seemed at least tolerant of the children. It was not that way at other hotels especially on the Strip. The Buffet on Monday night was seafood and very good. In fact, while some of the restaurants weren't great, they were passable. The only negative was having to call housekeeping for extra towels and glasses every day. We would probably stay on the Strip next time, but just to be closer to everything, not because of any bad experiences at the Orleans.
