Outstanding Front Desk check in and check out staff most effective at whittling down LONG waiting lines with proficient and competent personnel friendly and professional all the way. Hotel has it all bowling alley, kids arcade, movie theater, banquet rooms, ample gaming assortment, good dining and a food court.

Room Tip: Good room last year and this year exceeded previous year without any special requests, It would ap...

Be prepared for cigarette smoke. You are in a casino after all, but the non smoking floors reek. The rooms are ok. The bed is comfortable. The view of the mountains is nice. Our tub drain did not drain. Standing in shower water. We were there for 3 nights and complained the first day to no avail. Overall, the place feels clean enough and it is not on the strip. You can not walk to anything. You will need a cab if you choose to find other entertainment or casinos. Check in and check out were easy. lots of restaurants in the casino area, tgi fridays, subway, etc. several bars, and lots of hooting and hollering around the games area. someone must have been winning something. We enjoyed Koji's chinese and sushi for dinner one night. prices very reasonable. Huge bowling alley.

My family has been fortunate enough to stay at The Orleans four times. My teen enjoys the bowling and movie theaters while we play. The staff is always beyond friendly. They actually care about their guests unlike many of the strip hotels. The food is always delicious both in the restaurants and the food court. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. I have never written a review of any place I have stayed until now. The Orleans always will get my recommendation.

Room Tip: Eat and the Prime Rib loft exceptional food

Very disappointing! We visit and travel through Las Vegas often, and have stayed at lots of different types and classes of hotels, but the Orleans gave us some Vegas firsts, and not in a good way. Never in my well traveled life have I ever been told by a valet to "just leave your window rolled down, and drop the keys on the floor mat" upon check in. It was 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening, and several cars (at least 10) were sitting there waiting to be parked. Lots of people were walking in the casino/lobby entrance from the street, and milling around. The area had not a single security guard in site. I can only assume that the other vehicles around mine, with their windows rolled down and no drivers inside, had been given similar instructions, but this area was in NO WAY secure. Any person off the street could have walked up and taken any car they wanted!

Fast forward to the front desk: as we walked up, there was no line, and three front desk staff, one with a guest and two talking to each other. We stood and waited to be acknowledged, but apparently the two front desk agents' personal conversation was too important to interrupt, because we were made to wait until they finished. They clearly had seen us, but gave us only a couple of weary glances as they wrapped up. Then, when one decided to help us, he couldn't be bothered muster a simple greeting or even crack a smile, just said, "give me a second, I need to log on to my computer." "Ok, what's your name?" The rest of the check in proceeded in a similar manner.

The room was decent enough. Bell service was sufficient. We had some trouble with our television, but the maintenance man came up right away. He was far and away the friendliest and most helpful person we encountered. Very nice man.

We checked out very early (5:30am or so) to resume our cross country drive. However, when I attempted to call to have the car brought around, I was told by the valet (again with the valet!) that they would not be able to bring our car around unless we were standing there at the valet desk. I explained we were on our way down to check out, and trying to leave in a hurry. He said simply, "Well, we don't pull cars around until you are here, but it's not busy so don't worry." Really, dude? To top it off, when we arrived at the valet desk moments later, no one was there! So we had to wait for someone to arrive, and then for them to bring our car, so that added 15 more minutes onto our departure. I've never had that happen at a hotel in Vegas or elsewhere. What a mess!

Oh, and also? Prostitutes. Of the walking on the street variety, all around the hotel, along with the men who handle and frequent them. Seriously? You might just want to stay away.

Good, large, clean room. We stayed our first 5 nights at Palazzo and then had to move to the Orleans for Fri & Sat. nights. Our room was 704 and we had 4 adults in the room. The room was larger that most hotels and had a loveseat and chair and plenty of room to move around. The wall are a little thin so you hear a lot of hall noise, we turned just the fan on in the room and that helped a lot. This hotel has friendly staff and clean rooms at a great price. We would stay there again. My sister-in-law loved the pool and I did pretty good on the slots. My husband love the poker room as they always have a variety of games.

Room Tip: Older hotel so the walls are not sound proof, we chose a room at the end of the hall so there would...

We have stayed here several time for our childrens's sport functions. It is extremely affordable. The room are a decent size and clean. It is by no means glamouros. There is a movie theatre and bowling alley in the hotel so the kids have things to do. It is connected to the Convention Center so conveneint if need to go there. Would not stay there if I did not have my kids but is an okay property. It is not on the strip but there is a shuttle that takes you right in front of Bali's which is very conveinent.

We've stayed at The Orleans a half dozen times in the last 10 years, and never been disappointed. If you are looking for out and out luxury mid-strip, it's probably not for you. But if you are looking for clean and comfortable, with a decent casino and a good choice of dining establishments (once again, decent, but not outstanding), it's hard to beat The Orleans. Room prices are generally very good, and it doesn't take much play before you will be offered a reduced-rate or free room on your return visit. Parking is free and easy (the covered parkade is on the west side of the hotel), and access to the Interstate, downtown and the Strip is very easy. If you don't have a car, there is a free shuttle to the Strip, but the frequency of the shuttle seems to have declined in recent years, so you may have a bit of a wait before you get a seat. In summary, if you plan on spending all your time on the strip, you may be better off staying in an on-Strip property, but if you are planning on getting out of the city, or heading to some of the off-Strip properties, I'd strongly recommend The Orleans as your home base.
