“Great Hotel! Super Value!”

My husband and I stayed at the Orleans from 7/12-7/18/05. It was truly a great stay and a great value. Our room was spacious and spotless, the staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at all the restaurants there, but those we did were excellent.
The only gripe we had with the place is that it needs better ventilation in the casino. The Orleans seems to attract a lot of smokers, and the casino was smokier than others I've been in.
It's not on 'The Strip', but they have a shuttle bus that takes you to the Barbary Coast. From there, you can go next door to Bally's/Paris and get on the monorail.
This place is truly a Vegas gem. I highly recommend it!

“excellent hotel with loads to do”

we stayed from 21st june - 30th june. check in took 1 minute, which was great. we had requested a strip view, and got it at no extra cost. we had a 2 queen room (2 queen beds). very spacious. maids came around everyday, and were really great. on the forst few days we went to the courtyard place for our breakfast because we were up early trying to adjust to the 8 hours time difference. til 7am i think the breakfasts were really cheap. bowling was great. we went through the night a few times and it was only around $12 for the two of us having 3 games with shoe hire.

i would highly recommend katies corner? (the ice cream parlour). what a bargain. we got 3 scoops of ice cream in a tub nearly everyday and it was huge and really cheap.

by the end of the holiday we were having more time on our hands as we'd seen what we wanted (sad i know) so we went to the cinema a few times. the seats were really comfy and it was a quite reasonable before 6pm. the popcorn was awful though. i dont know if it is the norm for popcorn in america, but i like sweet popcorn, but the stuff there was slighty salted, slightly sweet. it wasnt nice at all.

the shuttle was great aswell. there was no kind of queue to be honest so if you stood by the front you always got on. we never missed one shuttle and we used it everyday. they run every 15 minutes or so.

taxi cost around $12-$15 to bottom/middle of strip. around $18-$20 to downtown.

by far the best placxe in teh orleans was TERRIBLE MIKES. the burgers are to die for. i'd walk back to vegas for one of those babies. they were gorgeous and really, really cheap aswell.

we never used the pool so cant comment. as we were thirsty all the time we bought a cooler box from walgreens on teh strip. it was a huge one for around $15 and we used to just get ice from near the elevator each night.

to be honest i though vegas would be the best holiday ever, but it wasnt as it wasnt nearly as good as we expected. however, if i did ever return i would stay at the orleans, or one of their sister hotels. the best hotel ive stayed in.

“The Orleans is a great play.”

The Orleans has proven itself over and over again. This hotel is a no-brainer for value. My wife and I favor the Orleans over the Strip hotels because of good parking, clean rooms, and a solid pool area. The fun book provides use of the fitness room and offers many free drink coupons.

“Great Place, great rates, great people - and the machines paid!”

Just returned from 4 days at The Orleans. As I said, in the caption - great rates, great people and the machines paid! Our room was very nice - kept up well , very comfortable bedding, and plenty of towels. The restaurants were very good - fairly priced with a super special from Midnight to 7 A.M. - we took advantage of that a few times. The wait staff seems to care about you and their co-workers. The service they give is unbelievable - shuttle service to the strip etc, Got to speak to the Slot manager - told him we were back for the second year in a row . Living in Florida, we have to budget our time and money for the plane fares,- our daughter joined us ( we were there for a wedding at the Excalibur) - after visiting several casinos - we were more than happy to return to The Orleans. Like Arnold says - " We'll be back!"

“good place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2005

When my company conference at the Mandalay ended, the wife and I moved to the Orleans for two nights. We are not big gamblers, so I can't comment much on the gaming scene.

We had a car and never took the shuttle. It's a good thing because I'd have no tolerance for losing a shuttle ride to people who hadn't been waiting nearly as long.

No complaints with check in or out. We stayed in 884. Room was excellent except for shower, which drained way too slow. Probably a hair clog in tub drain. I mentioned it to desk while checking out, so maybe they'll fix it.

I used the coupon book to get free gym usage. On first glance, the gym looked great. Only while trying to actually use the equipment did I notice that most of it was very difficult to adjust (seat height etc.) and uncomfortable to use. Also, it all only goes up to 150lbs, which is fine for most, but can be a tad light for some. It was adequate for 'tiding me over' for a day or two, but I'd have been ticked if I had paid to use it.

We only noticed near the end that there was some free deck parking, but I'm not sure if it would have been convenient. The valet deck parking was to the right if viewing Orleans from the front, the free deck parking was to the left and somewhat behind the place. We parked in the lot in front, and it was a minor pain walking across the 4 or 6 lanes of lot traffic to get to the car.

Food-we had two very good breakfasts at the main breakfast place there. I recommend the omelet, which is huge. Oddly, they never offered to refill my coffee, which was not that cheap at 1.75. Should have gone to Seattle Best for that, I suppose. Lots of other restaurants/entertainment on site that we did not try.

Overall: pleased with our stay, especially after the trauma of staying at the Mandalay. Would recommend the Orleans heartily.
